About This Opportunity InComm Payments is seeking a Senior International Tax Accountant located in the corporate headquarters in Atlanta, GA, but working remotely from anywhere in the United States. This position will report to the Senior International Income Tax Manager, and work closely with the corporate Tax team to work in all areas of international corporate taxation, including, but not limited to: • tax planning analysis and research, • transfer pricing and other cross border tax reporting requirements, • controversy defense, tax provision, compliance, and • reporting and forecasting. This position will provide the opportunity to work for a dynamic global company with the ability to develop best practices, grow tax technical skills and work cross functionally with other departments in the organization. Responsibilities • Tax Return Compliance – Prepare and assist with the accurate reporting of the international aspects of the US Federal income tax return. Help review alternative tax positions in order to determine the most appropriate cost-effective filing position. Support U.S. & International transfer pricing compliance process. Review income tax returns prepared by international tax service providers. • Financial Reporting – Support the accurate preparation of the company’s Federal/Foreign income tax expense (both current and deferred) for consolidated and local statutory financial statement purposes. Evaluate uncertain tax reporting positions and business combinations in order to properly reflect the tax treatment of such items in the financial statements. • Planning Activities – Assist with the implementation of non-structural tax planning strategies, which maximize savings on a defensible basis. Participate in the creation of proposed transactions to properly advise management of tax consequences. Support the tax function on implications relating to business acquisitions, dispositions and restructurings. • Tax Audits and Controversies – Evaluate and process requests for information from government officials and participate in developing strategies to successfully defend tax filing positions. Support the coordination and implementation of audit strategies. Stay abreast of legal developments and industry positions in order to accurately evaluate options and responses to requests for information. • Communication and Teamwork – Ability to work as a member of the team, reporting directly to the Senior International Income Tax Manager. Help develop the international section of the US income tax group and be able to conduct tax research effectively. Work alongside external tax advisors on a project-by-project basis. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Tax. Master’s degree in accounting or taxation and/or CPA a plus. • 3-5 years of experience within a tax department of a large US multinational company, a public accounting firm or environment with exposure to transfer pricing and all other aspects of international taxation. • OneSource Tax Provision, Oracle and Alteryx background a plus • Experience working on U.S. international tax compliance (Forms 1118, 5471, 8992, 8993 and 8858) and other transactional and planning projects. • Working understanding of U.S. international tax topics, including GILTI, FDII, FTC, 861 allocations, and the interplay of the calculations. • Ability to work on their own and make decisions • Demonstrated ability to develop innovative and creative solutions to complex issues. • Strong analytical, communication and critical thinking skills with an ability to multi-task. • Ability to produce accurate, precise, and logical work. • Demonstrated initiative; motivated to exceed expectations. • Solid GAAP Financial Accounting/ASC 740 knowledge.
