Senior Inventory, Costing and Closing Analyst

Location: Hybrid (3 days Office/2 days Home) | Travel: Up to 25% annually

Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM), a leader in premium building products and innovation for over 100 years, is seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven Inventory, Costing, and Closing Analyst to support our expanding operations.

Job Summary

This pivotal role will be part of a new Center of Excellence focused on driving best practices across inventory management, cost accounting, and financial close processes for all CSL locations using SAP. The analyst will oversee inventory accuracy, ensure robust cost accounting practices, and coordinate financial closing activities in alignment with GAAP or IFRS standards.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management: Ensure accurate recording, valuation, and reporting of inventory across all sites; develop and maintain inventory control procedures.

Cost Accounting: Oversee standard costing, variance analysis, and production cost reporting. Provide costing insights to support decision-making.

Month-End & Year-End Close: Lead and coordinate closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting packages.

Financial Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on inventory valuation, cost analysis, and financial summaries.

Internal Controls: Maintain effective controls to protect company assets and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements and lean manufacturing principles via COS (Carlisle Operating System).

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Procurement, Production, Sales, and other departments to align operational and financial data.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Proficient in SAP (or other ERP systems such as Oracle, JD Edwards); advanced Excel skills required.

Deep knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and inventory costing methods (e.g., FIFO, LIFO, average cost).

Proven analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Strong communication abilities, capable of presenting complex data clearly to various audiences.

Commitment to accuracy, process ownership, and continuous improvement.

Education and Experience

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on inventory, cost accounting, and closing.

Preferred:

Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA).
