**Job Summary**
We are seeking a skilled **Senior IT Analyst Applications** (Sr. Data Governance Analyst) **to** join our **GFS Strategy** .
The incumbent would be leading a role in influencing, creating, and managing data governance policies and standards, working with business teams, defining and socializing key data governance roles like data owners, stewards, custodians, SMEs, etc., and holding people accountable to governance standards.
The preference for this role is to be based out of **Whitefield Office, Bangalore, India**
**What you will do**
**Job Roles and Responsibilities**
+ Socialize and implement the data governance framework into business teams and drive its adoption
+ Responsible for updating and maintaining data catalog, business terms and associated metadata
+ Plays a key role in organization change management (OCM), facilitates business decisions for governing master and transactional data
+ Work with data quality team and establish proactive data quality controls by implementing a strong and scalable governance process
+ Create and promote data quality management capabilities. Coach stakeholders on how to measure quality. Build out rules for ‘what good looks like’
+ Create and promote the use of common data assets, such as business glossaries, reference data, data inventories, data models, data quality tools
+ Monitor adherence to data policies and standards, governing potential policy deviations and escalating where necessary.
+ Work with the internal Risk, Compliance and Audit teams to ensure appropriate controls on data governance are implemented into business operations.
+ Collaborate and promote measuring overall data maturity metrics.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, system developers to understand data needs and strategy for data in assigned functional areas to meet business objectives.
+ Develop proof-of-concept exercises and do pilots to mature data governance/quality solutions
+ Knowledge of technical writing; ability to write technical documents such as manuals, reports, guidelines or documents on standards, processes and applications
+ Ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
+ Defines success factors for potential applications or systems.
+ Evaluates the processes and tools for risk assessment and benefits analysis.
+ Plays an active or leadership role in business assessment processes and assists in the preparation of deliverables.
+ Utilizes tools, techniques and practices for identifying and validating business opportunities.
+ Establishes business assessment procedures for multiple or critical applications.
+ Demonstrates both empathy and assertiveness when communicating a need or defending a position.
+ Communicates well downward, upward, and outward.
**What you will have**
+ Experience in data governance field – governance standards, data management, data quality, data privacy etc.
+ Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence both Business and Technology stakeholders at all levels.
+ Possess knowledge of the interdependencies of Business and IT functions in relation to data management.
+ Excellent facilitation, presentation and storyboarding skills.
+ Strong analytical skills with regard to data management and governance.
+ Processes large quantities of detailed information with high levels of accuracy.
+ Productively balances speed and accuracy.
+ Employs techniques for motivating personnel to meet or exceed accuracy goals.
+ Implements a variety of cross-checking approaches and mechanisms.
+ Demonstrates expertise in quality assurance tools, techniques, and standards.
**Qualifications Required**
+ The position requires a college or university degree or equivalent experience.
+ Minimum 5 years of professional experience in data governance discipline
+ Certification in data governance/management (DMBOK/CDMP) discipline is highly desired
+ Previous finance experience is highly desirable

**System and Technology Integration** : Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Designs and develops applications or technology interfaces and bridges.
• Documents existing best practices for system or technology integration processes.
• Identifies and quantifies risks of proposed alternatives to a system or technology integration initiative.
• Delivers training on major issues, interfaces, considerations and potential pitfalls and risks.
• Discusses with line areas on data, technology and application integration issues.
• Advises others in how to integrate projects across multiple technologies.
**System Testing** : Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Verifies the proper flow of transactions across all input, output and storage channels or devices.
• Evaluates interoperability of new systems with existing systems during the beta testing phase.
• Supervises the testing of complex, multi-platform and distributed applications.
• Designs processes to ensure that the system meets and maintains requirements and expectations.
• Coaches end users on the development of test data and test scenarios for system validation.
• Manages the execution of test plans, including resources, strategies, schedules, processes and tool
