Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Detroit Renaissance Center, Detroit MI, three times per week, at minimum.
Occasional visits to Warren, Michigan (Tech Center) may be needed.
The Role
The Senior IT Auditor is responsible for conducting software and technology infrastructure audit assignments that align with the vision and strategy of General Motors Audit Services (GMAS). This includes executing audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting. The role involves working in a team environment on various audit engagements with internal and external stakeholders, identifying and evaluating the design of IT controls, conducting audit testing, and documenting reportable issues in the audit report. The auditor will operate in accordance with GMAS Audit Methodology (Agile), Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards, and other applicable standards, while adhering to defined plans, budgets, and schedules.
Fully qualified individual contributor who has knowledge and understanding of all aspects of a function and exercises independent discretion and judgment on significant matters based on professional knowledge.
What You’ll Do
Execute Audit Program: Actively participate in the creation and execution of a comprehensive audit program, including annual risk assessments and audit plans.
Prepare Work Papers: Directly prepare and ensure work papers are accurate, have adequate testing coverage, and are appropriately documented.
Communicate Results: Directly report audit findings to team and key stakeholders throughout audit projects.
Maintain Audit System: Actively update the audit management system (Star) with accurate and timely information, including project hours, dates, action plan status, and findings documentation.
Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Education: Bachelors degree in IT or a related field.
Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years in an IT or audit role.
IT Analysis Expertise: Extensive knowledge and skills in analyzing the confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) of complex IT systems.
Internal Controls: Expertise in concepts and practices such as NIST, CoBIT, and ITIL.
Auditing Experience: In areas such as Identity & Access Management (IAM), Backup and Recovery (BUR), Change Management, Job Monitoring, and Security Configuration Controls.
Analytical and Independent Work Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to work independently.
Travel: Ability to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Education: Masters degree in Information Technology or a related field.
Professional Certifications: CEH, Network+, CISA, CISM, CISSP, or other relevant certifications.
Prior experience in Cloud Infrastructure, Secure Software Development and the ServiceNow Platform.
Prior experience with big 4 firms
