Senior IT Business Analyst

Purpose of Role

The Senior IT Business Analyst leads the analysis and documentation of Aurecon IT projects, so that our portfolios deliver the highest quality initiatives to Aurecon. Has 7+ years of project experience as a business analyst on technology focussed projects and has worked autonomously to produce high-quality deliverables that meet the needs of project stakeholders. The Senior IT Business Analyst is equally comfortable working with business stakeholders to capture requirements, project managers to coordinate tasks and team members, and technical teams to ensure that requirements are delivered.

The successful candidate will bring their confidence and work ethic to ensure the successful implementation of IT initiatives at Aurecon.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities of the Senior IT Business Analyst at Aurecon:

•     Function as a Technical Payroll Business Analyst to capture and document requirements, scope, and business processes for IT projects.

•     Strong Payroll experience (end-to-end process)

•     Ramco Payroll Solution experience or similar

•     Workday project experience – nice to have

•     Conduct workshops and interviews with subject matter experts and stakeholders from across the business.

•     Work with project and portfolio managers to ensure appropriate project resourcing, task assignments and project reporting.

•     Deliver key artefacts as required by the project, including user stories, business requirements documentation, traceability matrices, as-is and to-be process documentation, and wireframes.

Additional Responsibilities:

•     Assist portfolio and project managers in identifying, reporting, and resolving risks and issues throughout project lifecycles.

•     Collaborate with solution architects, security analysts and change analysts to produce material to support the successful delivery of IT projects.

•     Act as Scrum Master as and when required.

Essential skills and experience

Business Analysis Skills:

•       Business situation analysis: can produce diagrams and flowchart representations of real-world business situations and functions.

•       Requirements definition and management: define, validate and manage requirements through the delivery life-cycle.

•       Feasibility assessment: define, evaluate and describe business change options to meet the defined requirements.

•       Data modelling and design: can develop models and diagrams to represent and communicate data requirements.

Application/Product Experience:

•       Competency using Microsoft Excel to analyse and cleanse data, produce and maintain reports, lists and visualisations.

•       Competency using Microsoft Visio to create and maintain process documentation.

•       Atlassian Confluence and JIRA

Business Analysis Experience:

•       7+ years of experience as an IT business analyst in /PRINCE2/Agile/Scrum projects

•       Function as a Technical Payroll Business Analyst to capture and document requirements, scope, and business processes for IT projects.

•       Strong Payroll experience (end-to-end process) - mandatory

•       Ramco Payroll Solution experience or similar

•       Workday project experience – nice to have

Lead business requirement gathering and process workshops. Contribute insight knowledge to finalise requirements Work closely with IT teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications Assist in the development of User Acceptance Test (UAT) scripts and end-to-end testing to ensure the system is delivered to the agreed requirements Work with vendor to prepare payroll system documentation including process, training and procedural documentation 

•       Experience working across multiple regions and with program managers, project managers, business stakeholders, application or product owners, and external vendors.
