Purpose of Role

The core purpose of the Senior IT Project Manager role is to manage the end-to-end delivery of internal global technology projects within Aurecon. The role is responsible for mitigating delivery risk to the organization through ensuring that the solutions we implement meet expected business outcomes, are fit for purpose, future-proofed and are ready to be supported.

This role may deliver one single project or be responsible for managing multiple projects concurrently.

With 8+ years Project Management experienceHave strong stakeholder management skill, have worked within the organization and not just from the vendor sideHave agile experience, along with experience with typical PRINCE2 governanceHave experience with managing software implementationsHave experience in Software standardization and renewals processExperience with Autodesk and Bentley products will be desirableHave experience working with commercial & procurement teamsDelivering projects according to a structured framework/methodologyApplying project governance and controls across each initiative – ensuring that project stage gates are adhered to and signoffs received for core deliverablesPlanning and coordinating global project resources and managing these individuals as a virtual teamManaging project interdependencies and clearly escalating where there are issues/roadblocks preventing successful deliveryAbility to manage Risks and prevent them from becoming issuesReport progress and issues to stakeholders, including Steering Committee.Delivering projects to scope, quality, schedule and budget.

Qualification, Essential skills and experience

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business or related fieldProject Management Qualifications (Prince 2, PMBOK)8+ years as an IT Project ManagerAdvanced Project Management Methodologies: In-depth knowledge and ability to tailor them to project specifics.Experience leading Design Engineering software implementations and  / deployments or Projects is desirableStrong experience and exposure to Agile/Scrum frameworkVery strong Stakeholder Management able to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to ensure clear communication, manage expectations, and build strong working relationships.Strong commercial acumen – experienced in negotiating and driving project outcomes through preferred suppliers/partnersStrong Communication and Interpersonal skills, including negotiation and influencing skills.Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessmentsMentoring & coaching project team members – experience uplifting capability and quality of delivery/championing project management disciplinesAbility to lead dispersed and diverse technology teams to deliver continuous value for customers.Disciplined approach to planning, budgeting, execution, monitoring activities against plan and financial reconciliationProven ability to consult and facilitate discussions regarding alternative approaches and to broker consensus across stakeholder teams.Able to create effective team environments for people to innovate and learn.
