What will you do?

The core purpose of the Senior IT Project Manager role is to manage the end-to-end delivery of internal global technology projects within Aurecon. The role is responsible for mitigating delivery risk to the organization through ensuring that the solutions we implement meet expected business outcomes, are fit for purpose, futureproofed and are ready to be supported.

Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’.

Owning the entire IT delivery lifecycle, from project initiation to closure (including Agile delivery).

Adherence to project delivery frameworks

Manage gates/checkpoints

Status reporting, Deliverables and sign-offs

Defining project scope, timelines, budget, and success criteria

Scrum of Scrums and Governance Forums as required (Steering Committee, etc.)

Coordinate schedule creation with project team/collect key activities

Accountability and Responsibility in the Ways of Working Evolution

Sprint Plan, Standups, Backlog Refinement, Showcase, Retrospective, etc.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills with an ability to adapt to the needs of the team and stakeholders

Strong narrative, context setting and story-telling ability.

Regular Risk reviews

Weekly Risk and Issue management

Clear definition of scope, requirements, that is reviewed and signed-off as per delivery framework

Management of scope change throughout project using change control process.

Estimates included in Business Problem Canvas.

Actuals and estimates to be completed monthly

Change variations raised for budgets with more than (± 5%) variation

Defined project org. structure and roles and responsibilities (communicated to team)

Effort estimations produced for all activities

Actual effort and progress against schedule tracked throughout project

Ensure Quality Criteria for project are defined

Complete Quality Checks throughout project to ensure solution meets required quality

Change Impact Assessments completed and executed accordingly

What can you bring to the team?

Firstly, strong sense of responsibility, flexibility, and adaptability to varying request. Demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills. And as part of a new team, you will have the opportunity to shape this role and have input into how we evolve it over time to WOW our employees and make an even bigger impact on the world. You will also need the following:

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business or related field

Project Management Qualifications (Prince 2, PMBOK)

10+ years as a Project Manager or equivalent to Senior PM

Workplace Domain Project experience – Mandatory

- Device policy and life cycle management

- Creation and Management of SOE (OS & Device settings)

- Microsoft 365 suite o Packaging and Deploying software

- Management of Exchange & MS Teams platform

- Azure/Citrix Virtual Desktop

- AV / Telephony - desirable

- MacOS (fleet) deployment – desirable.

- GenAI – Copilot - desirable

Advanced Project Management Methodologies: In-depth knowledge and ability to tailor them to project specifics.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation and influencing skills.

Very strong Stakeholder Management able to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to ensure clear communication, manage expectations, and build strong working relationships.

Strong experience and exposure to Agile/Scrum framework

Experience leading Enterprise level rollouts / deployments or Projects.

A technical generalist awareness across core enterprise technologies

Strong commercial acumen – experienced in negotiating and driving project outcomes through preferred suppliers/partners

Understanding of IT systems, how they relate and interact

Mentoring & coaching project team members – experience uplifting capability and quality of delivery/championing project management disciplines

Ability to lead dispersed and diverse technology teams to deliver continuous value for customers.

Disciplined approach to planning, budgeting, execution, monitoring activities against plan and financial reconciliation

Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and drive stakeholders to deliver on committed outcomes

Proven ability to consult and facilitate discussions regarding alternative approaches and to broker consensus across stakeholder teams.

Able to create effective team environments for people to innovate and learn
