Job Summary
The IT Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of complex projects in a technical environment. It involves managing/leading key programs and projects required to achieve our business and IT goals. This role requires a high level of ownership collaborating with key stakeholders, skilled in organizational change management and assume full accountability for managing and delivering projects and programs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Plans and leads a portfolio of IT programs that are comprised of highly visible, high-profile projects that span the organization and have significant enterprise impact. Plans program strategy to sequence and integrate projects, adjusting scope, timing, and budgets as needed. Actively work with all involved to mitigate risks by maintaining a project plan. Communicates with IT leadership and senior business leadership to review program strategy, direction, and changes. Experienced quantifying impacts of risks and issues to scope, schedule, budget and prioritizing and driving resolution. Continually evaluates and maintains efficiency in leading the portfolio of programs through planning, scheduling, and budget assessment. Lead and support the vision and strategy for assigned area of the program, including project investments, associated business, and functional requirements necessary to achieve defined business needs. Develop a deep knowledge of the assigned program technology and business unit, build positive relationships both horizontally and vertically. Coordinate the delivery and execution of all projects within the area of the program and prepare the team for the execution of projects. Support the development of new programs to help achieve the strategic goals of the organization. Help support the intake of new project ideas to ensure they are properly vetted and triaged. Coordinate cross-project dependencies within a program. Help champion project manager compliance around project status reports and ensure portfolio dashboards/reports are current and accurate. Perform project QA to ensure required features and functions have been enabled and optimized. Collect project requirements (both initial and detailed) from project collaborators. Organize and coordinate programs and provide strategic guidance to teams and project managers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements. Recommend changes that streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance the quality of services or products. Organizational Change Management Support and drive knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools. Apply an organizational change process and tools to create a strategy to help optimize or facilitate a change initiative. Support the development and maintenance of a Project Change Strategy (Communications, Alignment, Training, Reinforcement and Resistance) and detailed plans. Quality Assurance Implement quality assurance measures to ensure that process changes meet the desired objectives and deliver value. Supervisory Responsibilities No direct reports Proven experience managing project contributors within and across cross-functional teams on projects with senior executive level visibility and enterprise-wide impact. Experience Proven experience in business process analysis and improvement. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication (written and interpersonal) skills. Proficiency in process mapping and analysis tools. Experience in digital transformation or using technology to drive customer business outcomes. Overall 7-10 years’ experience, including 4 or more years managing projects. 3+ years’ experience with projects related to information technology initiatives, including 2 years focused on Information technology infrastructure initiatives. Experienced managing and supporting ITIL focused enterprises that help align business goals, run service delivery, handle incidents, and maintain service quality. Experience with Organizational Change Management and Project Management Leadership are a plus. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with equivalent experience. Advanced degree (MBA or MIS) preferred. Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Abilities Project management skills to plan and complete process improvement initiatives. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with teams and across the organization. Methodical approach, with a firm understanding in Agile/Waterfall/other project management methodology principles. Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, SmartSheets, and other project management tools. Strong data analysis skills, including proficiency in data visualization and analysis tools. Proficiency in process modeling and diagramming software (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart) Excellent documentation and reporting skills, with a demonstrated ability to prepare and present detailed project reports. Excellent collaborator management and teamwork skills. Critical thinking and the ability to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities. Change management and training abilities to drive process adoption. Strong attention to detail and documentation skills. Understanding and experience within the end-to-end ERP implementation project life cycle. Licenses/Registrations Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is preferred.COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
