Senior IT Security Architect

As a Senior Security Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex IT systems and security solutions. In this role you will analyze security risks, develop technical strategies, and provide guidance on technology decisions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between business goals and technical solutions. Additionally, Senior IT Architects also provide guidance and support to junior team members, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will stay up-to-date with the latest Information Security threats, trends and technologies to drive innovation and support the Information Security program at The Jackson Laboratory. Significant knowledge and experience with a variety of on-premise and cloud-based security toolsets such as SIEM, IDS/IPS and Identity Management is required.

Key Responsibilities

Design, development, and deploy enterprise systems

Analyzes business drivers to determine corresponding change requirements.

Analyzes the IT environment to detect critical deficiencies, and recommend solutions for improvement.

Conduct research and develop, document, and communicate plans for investing in systems architecture, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.

Documents all solution architecture design and analysis work. Advocates for the architecture process, its outcome and ongoing results. Identifies the organizational impact (on skills, processes, structures, culture) and financial impact of the design implementations.

Identify required architecture components and/or frameworks. Prioritize architecture deliverables, and establish short-term, mid-term and long-range architecture plans. Bridge between tactical implementations and strategic architectural direction.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrable experience in designing and implementing solutions.

Excellent communication skills and attention to detail and the demonstrated ability to successfully communicate with organizational leadership and staff at all levels

Commitment to the highest level of ethical standards

Ability to maintain motivation, initiative, independence and responsibility.

Strong business acumen, with the ability to present complex technical concepts in verbal or written business terms.


Education: Bachelor's required/ Master's preferred
Experience: 10 years required/ 12 years preferred

The salary range is $111,488 - $186,656. Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
