We are looking to hire Senior Information Systems Engineer to be a part of the Intelligent NETworks ™ (iNET) software development team. iNET™ is Parsons’ industry-leading smart-city software used to improve the management, efficiency, effectiveness, safety, and livability of our cities and communities.
Our iNET Software provides: Smart Mobility Capabilities - No matter the transportation system—freeway, highway, toll road, transit route, tunnel, arterial road, or other—iNET applies state-of-the-art operational solutions to enable smarter mobility and smarter cities overall. This includes interfacing with transportation devices, variable message signs, traffic signals, cameras, air quality monitoring sensors, smart lighting, and many other devices to monitor and respond to traffic anomalies and environmental changes. Data collected by iNET™ is also used for Big Data Analysis, ingesting, and processing large volumes of transportation and other smart-city data into a cloud- and/or premise-based big data environment. This solution includes integrated big data analytics tools to enable ad hoc reporting of the big data environment information.
In this team, you will be working with Parsons Smart Mobility teams to provide our clients with real-time Advanced Transportation Management solutions. You will function as a senior team member, working on state-of-the-art technologies collaboratively with other team members. You will be expected to provide input on requirement analysis, design decisions and help drive the direction of the projects on which you work. This candidate must be a strong communicator, comfortable in front of clients explaining solutions in a manner that is appropriate for the current audience. Lastly, this individual is a driven self-starter who is ready to dive into the latest technologies and modernize our product on Microsoft Azure as well as support ongoing projects. Our ideal candidates will have experience managing systems at an advanced technical level and demonstrate professional capabilities across network, hardware, systems administration, and compliance alignment with cybersecurity controls and frameworks.
Responsibilities:
Understanding project scope and requirements and translating them to work itemsStrong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to support proposal and sales teams as a technical subject matter expert.Demonstrable ability to learn new and complex subject matter.Provide accurate estimates for project requirements and enhancement requestsProvide input to lead engineer on solutions, approaches, and designs to meet customer requirementsProvide guidance to senior leadership on technologies to use, cost optimization techniques, and best practices for cloud, hybrid and on-premises application deployment.Develop technical designs in accordance with the requirements and product directionImplement and test cloud deployment configurations using TerraformSetup monitoring and observability for deployments to track key metrics such as utilization availability and costPerform at an advanced technical level and demonstrate professional capabilities across network, systems administration, and compliance alignment with cybersecurity controls and frameworks.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related fields Minimum of 4+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience with providers such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services, VMwareMinimum network certification equivalent to Cisco Certified Network Associate.Firewall and Routing experience using Cisco, Juniper, or Fortinet products.4+ years of design, build, and maintenance experience across hardware (Dell/HP server, storage), Network (Firewall/Switch/Routing) Operating System, and Hypervisor.Ability to work with subject matter experts to design complex solutions required to meet customer technical and security requirements.Experience deploying and managing application/web server environments including Wildfly/JBOSS, Tomcat, IIS is a plusExperience working in a DevOps capacity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins / Artifactory is a plusKnowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle is a plusExperience working on Windows / Linux development and production environmentsMinimum Clearance Required to Start:
