Senior IVVQ Engineering - Identity and Biometric Solutions

Position Summary
We are looking for a Senior Integration, Validation, Verification and Qualification (IVVQ) Engineer to join Thales in Austin, TX. You will be part of a dynamic team delivering tailor made solutions to state and local government agencies to issue official documents (Driver’s License, ID cards), and to perform biometric comparisons for government or law enforcement customers. This is a central position in our fast paced organization requiring a combination of high technical skills and good communication with a strong problem-solving mindset and leadership skills.
 

The Senior IVVQ engineer is a hands on position which will interface directly with customers, work with various functional groups (project managers, business analysts, software engineers) in the execution of our projects and deliveries to our customers.

Regulatory Compliance Requirements

Must have U.S. or Dual Citizenship and be able to obtain post-hire clearance from the Committee on Foreign Investments in the U.S. (CFIUS) and Department of Justice.

Key Areas of Responsibility 

•    Lead validation, verification and quality efforts on complex projects within Identity and Biometric scope. 
•    Responsible for working directly with customer during project initiation, implementation and acceptance phase. 
•    Define validation strategy and act as work package manager for project validation activities 
•    Responsible for reliability, robustness and performance of full solution by using your development skills and quality assurance knowledge
•    Responsible for minimizing project risk and failures, optimize test coverage, estimate and monitor project tasks by understanding solution architecture and software components
•    Create and execute quality assurance plans, acceptance and validation test plans, test scripts and other documents required by Thales project management process

Basic Qualifications

•       Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, IT, or a relevant field (or foreign equivalent), coupled with 8-10 years of experience in developing complex solutions using various methodologies (Functional, Integration, Performance, Acceptance) with a high level of autonomy.
•       Proven experience in a project leadership position, demonstrating expertise in IVVQ methodologies (Integration, Verification, Validation, and Qualification) along with effective task estimation, schedule management, and risk tracking.
•       Over 7 years of hands-on experience with Web/Mobile technologies, application servers, and web services, including API testing using Soap/Rest protocols and writing SQL queries for database searches.
•       Strong background in developing and executing automated tests for 3+ years using languages like JavaScript or Python, alongside a thorough understanding of security for application development and data persistence.
•       Proficient in networking protocols/technologies (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, LDAP), and 5 years of experience with defect management tools like JIRA, displaying keen attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
•       Ability to adapt and thrive in fast-paced, high-technology environments, exhibiting strong written and verbal communication skills, independence, and a dedication to continuous learning and troubleshooting hardware/software issues under pressure
 
Special Position Requirements

•       Schedule: Present for core business hours but hours may increase or vary based on fluctuating workloads

•       Physical Environment: As Required

•       Travel: Willing to travel on occasion both domestically as well as internationally (up to 20%)
