As a Senior Java Developer, you will make an impact by crafting and building scalable, robust applications to improve modern development practices. You will be a valued member of our Digital Engineering team and work collaboratively with our Engagement Delivery Lead in our banking and financial services practice.

In this role, you will Build and maintain applications using Java and Spring Boot Framework. Design and implement RESTful APIs, working with XML and JSON data formats. Leverage design patterns and standard processes to deliver and improve scalable solutions. Write clean, efficient, and easily testable code with a focus on developing through detailed testing (TDD). Contribute to Agile programs with emphasizes on continuous delivery and quality assurance. Coordinate collaboratively in large-team development environments using tools like IntelliJ and Git.

What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)

A proven track record of 6 years or more in Java microservices development. Solid grasp of large-team development workflows. Excellent multi-tasking, communication, and collaboration skills. Proficiency with tools like JIRA and Confluence.

What will help you stand out (preferred skills)

Efficiency with microservices architecture and cloud-native apps. Superb knowledge in The Twelve-Factor App methodology.

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs.
