What You’ll Be Doing
You will be joining CIBC’s Digital Technology group serving retail and small business customers. This group provides strategic partnership, production support and project execution to three primary internet sites (CIBC Online Banking, cibc.com and Simplii Financial), and mobile banking.
You will be a key member of the technology team supporting CIBC’s Digital Transformation, successfully implementing complex, enterprise-scale solutions on modern platforms with a variety of system integrations and patterns. As a Senior Application Developer, you need to be a good programmer. You will develop and implement solutions to the main Digital channels hands-on, under the guidance of senior team members. You will also be part of the exciting journey to enhance our systems in the Cloud.
How You’ll Succeed
Design and Development: Conduct API design by analyzing business requirements and following system architecture and high-level design. Develop APIs following the right design patterns and best practices. Key deliverables also include good-quality test cases and documentation. Be good at coding complex systems and business logic effectively. Be good at modern development concepts and processes, both understanding and practice.Continuous Improvement: Be the advocate for continuous improvement. Follow and contribute to best practices to ensure quality of work. Consistently seek process efficiency and effectiveness to enhance productivity. Having the right understanding of modern technology and modern development culture is an asset.Operational Efficiency: Be the next level support for operational activities. You can demonstrate strong experience in: Java/J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot, Web Services (SOAP, JSON and RESTFul). Proven and solid hands-on experience in Microservices and API development with at least 5 years of experience in Java development in the enterprise environment. Be familiar with Agile methodologies and Cloud environments (Azure/OCP, Kubernetes or equivalent)You embrace change. You are passionate about being up to speed with technology trends. You'll continuously evolve your thinking and the way you work in order to deliver your best.Your influence makes an impact.
