As a Senior Java Developer with a focus on Swift Payments. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and enhancing our payment processing systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of efficiency and security. As a Senior Java Developer, you will work closely with multi-functional teams to implement solutions that address client needs and streamline processes. Your expertise in Java, coupled with experience in payment technology, will be crucial in driving the success of our initiatives in the fast-paced financial services sector. You'll be tasked with solving complex challenges, and your contributions will have a significant impact on the overall performance of our payment systems.

In this role, you will Design, develop, and maintain robust Java applications for Swift Payments processing. Collaborate with product managers and collaborators to define project requirements and specifications. Implement and optimize payment gateways and transaction management systems. Ensure code quality and alignment to standard methodologies through rigorous testing and code reviews. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to payment processing and system performance.

What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. At least 8+ years of experience in Java development with a strong focus on payment systems. Proficient in Java frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate. Experience with payment industry standards, including but not limited to ISO 20022, SWIFT, and PCI-DSS compliance. Familiarity with relational databases like Oracle or MySQL and NoSQL databases like MongoDB.

Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for software applications. Proficiency in any RDBMS

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days a week in a client OR Cognizant office in Toronto, ON.
