How do we make an impact?

Unity Lab Services provides a single source for coordinated lab service, support, and supply management.

A day in the life:

Provides assistance & coverage with the following activities:

Perform laboratory support services which includes media preparation, glassware processing, biological waste processing, chemical replenishment and management, and the decontamination and sterilization of laboratory apparatus.

Routinely operates laboratory equipment.

Use Thermo Fisher Scientific's inventory/order management systems to perform on-site program replenishments and disbursements, receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, general customer service, work open order reports, product returns, backorder processing, and inventory management reports as assigned.

Follow work processes as outlined by our written procedures & update SOPs and work instructions on an annual basis

Listens to customer concerns, effectively addresses issues with a goal of resolution within established timeframe, and proactively communicates with supervisor, any customer concerns and/or potential problems

Works closely with fisher scientific sales team as needed

Engage in process improvement activities

May perform other responsibilities as assigned by management

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate degree in a related field preferred, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills. Military Service/Training in lieu of a degree may also be considered.

Experience

2 years of related experience within a laboratory setting is preferred.

Experience working in customer service is also a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Able to read, write, and speak English fluently with strong verbal and written communication skills, and a desire to deliver excellent customer service.Possesses a strong desire to serve the customer, and the communication skills to collaborate with various levels of personnel at the customer site.Independently operates handheld scanners to enter data in various systems as needed; as well as analytical skills to reconcile reports.Demonstrates computer proficiency and possesses intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office suite software. Uses organizational skills to multi-task and meet due dates as needed.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Works primarily at customer sites, which may require independent work. Work areas may include spaces where chemical-based allergens are in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc)Personal protective equipment is required in certain areas. This includes lab coats, coveralls, hoods, facemasks, hairnets, safety gloves, steel-toe shoes, bump hats, and/or safety glassesRequires the ability to lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 50 pounds occasionally, including operation and use of pushcarts and pallet jacksRegularly required to stand or walk for prolonged periodsAbility to work overtime, as needed
