The LabVIEW Developer will work directly with our Engineers to design and develop products, perform software verification and validation, and design new test equipment and technology while adhering to Marotta's comprehensive Quality Assurance (QA) program. In this position, you will take responsibility for developing new, and improving existing processes utilizing National Instruments LabVIEW.  Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to see the big picture, are essential for this role.    Minimum Required Qualifications: Certified LabVIEW Developer - National Instruments Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work well independently and with a team Must be a US Citizen 7+ years of experience specializing in LabVIEW software development Familiarity with developing for a wide range of NI products Strong software documentation and verbal communication skills Experience with integrating hardware components with software development Understand how to read a Piping and Instrumentation Diagram Experience in developing and troubleshooting Hardware in the Loop (HIL) systems Bachelor of Science degree in Mechatronics, mechanical, industrial engineering, or equivalent US Citizenship Required   Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with equipment designers and hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of National Instruments data acquisition modules and LabVIEW software Conduct Independent Verification and Validation of existing LabVIEW software Conduct testing with actual system hardware and document test results Conduct troubleshooting of existing LabVIEW systems in a development / test lab environment Document and communicate all findings and improvements. Identify, quantify, and communicate process improvements to the engineering management. Participate in manufacturing readiness assessments. Alert management to process deficiencies in a timely manner. Identify materials and equipment needed and generate purchase requisitions and/or capital expenditure requests to obtain them. Understand various machining and special process techniques. Secure external resources (subcontracted services) to maintain and ensure equipment is operational. Effectively communicate issues in a timely manner to all affected parties internal/external to the Marotta Organization. Contribute to a positive, cooperative and safe work environment through effective communication at all levels of the Marotta organization. Participate in root cause investigations, troubleshooting activities (as req’d), continuous improvement initiatives/programs, etc. Additional Duties / Responsibilities: Bring initiatives and activities to closure in a timely manner through effective interaction with individuals, both internal and external to the Marotta organization (as required). Facilitate training, as needed, to maintain a cross-trained workforce and to support operational goals and objectives. Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.   Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shop environment, including, but not limited to; fluids, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise and vibration. This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required). Temperature of work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures, machining processes, etc. This is a full-time position. Weekend work may be required, as job duties demand. Some travel may be required for this position (5-20%).   Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the LabVIEW developer is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.  Vision and color vision must pass job-required vision screening. The LabVIEW developer is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The LabVIEW developer is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, or crouch, and move about the facility.
