Job Overview:
The Software Engineer will be responsible for developing technology solutions in the WabtecOne space. As part of this role, the Software Engineer would be working closely with the Functional and Technical leads across various applications, COE, and Infrastructure teams to deliver the right business outcomes.
Basic Qualifications:
Master's/Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronics or Electronics or Computer Science with minimum 12 years of relevant software industry experience in ASP.Net, Angular, Design Patterns & Microservices.
Minimum 3 years working experience on cloud-based applications
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain cloud-based software solutions
Actively improve software using Scrum and Agile development methodologies, including daily standups and iteration planning meetings.
Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts.
Ability to take ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members.
Has the ability to analyse impact of technology choices.
Expert in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
Drive code quality through best practices, unit testing and code quality automation
Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems.
Promotes transparency by proactively sharing design choices with appropriate audiences, with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness.
Demonstrates expert understanding of functional and nonfunctional requirements and their priority within the backlog.
Work as an individual contributor and closely collaborate with architect and technical leaders.
Should have the organizational skills to aid the business in developing global products cutting across technologies and deployment models.
Ability to work on different technologies and work with team to deliver cutting edge solutions.
Technical Expertise:
Preference will be given to candidates with 5 or more years of experience developing web-based solutions that involve programming languages and web application platforms Angular with ASP.NET Core
Preference will be given to candidates with experience developing applications with both relational databases and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and Cassandra.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience developing and supporting applications in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience docker, Kubernetes and monitoring tools such as DataDog to handle deployment and operation of applications.
3+ years building responsive web applications for desktop and mobile devices.
3+ years with HTML, CSS, TypeScript and JavaScript
3+ years integrating web applications with back-end services
3+ years working with Git or similar source code control
