SENIOR LEADER FOR MARINE EXPEDITIONARY WARFIGHTING CAPABILITIES DEVELOPMENT
Summary You will serve as the Senior Leader for Marine expeditionary warfare capabilities and sea-basing integrator within the Service's force design and development processes. This position is located within the Headquarters, Marine Corps Combat Development Command (MCCDC)/Combat Development and Integration (CD&I), Quantico, VA. Responsibilities You will develop and implement long-range plans to meet Commandant of the Marine Corps objectives for sea-basing, expeditionary shipbuilding, surface connector requirements development and naval/Marine Air Ground Task Force integration. You will perform complex duties involving detailed analyses of the Marine Corps requirements for sea-basing, expeditionary warfare, force design, afloat MAGTF operations, expeditionary ship capabilities, and afloat prepositioning capabilities. You will engage daily and directly at the Flag Officer and Senior Executive levels across DoD, Joint Staff, CCMDs, DoN, OPNAV, HQMC, and multiple field organizations such as NAVSEA. You will engage Congressional Members and Staff, and industry to ensure the Marine Corps sea-basing-related operational concepts and requirements are integrated within all sea-basing platform, craft, and surface connector plans and programs. You will operate with a wide degree of latitude in work planning and performance under broad policy guidance. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: Applicants will be assessed against Mandatory Technical Qualifications (MTQs). Failure to provide a separate narrative statement which describes fully and concisely how your experience meets the Mandatory Technical Qualifications will eliminate you from consideration. MANDATORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Each must be addressed separately in your Supplemental Narrative Statement. Each MTQ must not exceed 2 pages.) MTQs should reflect your most recent experience, ideally from the past 5-7 years, and no MTQ example should be older than 10 years. 1. Knowledge of sea-basing related platforms, expeditionary ships, prepositioning ships, non-displacement amphibious landing craft, and other related surface connectors. 2. Knowledge of Navy and Marine sea/shore-based organizations, missions, tasks, functions, and their deployment/employment organizational configuration and integration. 3. Skill in analytical methods and processes to analyze complex situations, consider alternatives, and arrive at viable solutions. Education Additional Information This position is a Senior Level position in the federal government. Senior Level employees are in non-executive positions whose duties are broad and complex enough to be classified above GS 15 level. Senior level positions involve highly specialized and complex work.
