Senior Leader of Facilities Services
Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Leader to provide strategic direction and operational excellence for our nationwide Facility Services team. This role is responsible for overseeing the management of facilities across 1,500+ locations, leading a team of 20 professionals, and ensuring optimal performance in repair and maintenance (R&M), capital expenditures (CapEx), and energy management. The Senior Leader will play a key role in executing the company’s facility strategies, delivering financial performance, and maintaining compliance while driving innovation in energy sustainability initiatives. Responsibilities Team Development: Lead, engage, and develop a high-performing team, delivering regular performance reviews and implementing action plans to achieve departmental and company strategies. Strategic Leadership and Innovation: Drive strategic initiatives by leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency, identify process improvements, optimize resource allocation, and improve service delivery. Continuously assess and realign vendor partnerships to achieve better cost management and performance outcomes in alignment with company goals. Budget and Financial Management: Prepare and present annual Capital Improvement budgets, contribute to annual R&M Operations budgets, conduct monthly financial reviews, and collaborate with Operations to monitor spend against budget and prior year performance. Project and Process Management: Coach the Facilities team on the execution of annual capital budgets and R&M controls, while identifying and implementing long-term efficiencies and cost-saving measures. Energy and Sustainability Initiatives: Contribute to corporate Environmental initiatives, collaborating with the Manager of Energy and Sustainability to identify and execute viable projects in solar, lighting, HVAC, and energy management systems. Utility Analysis: Regularly analyze gas, water, and electric spend to uncover and implement cost-saving opportunities. Acquisition Support: Partner with the Acquisition Team to provide due diligence and insights before asset purchases. Compliance and Standards: Ensure company standards and specifications are consistently implemented and compliance requirements are met across all locations. Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in regular meetings with Facilities Managers, District Managers, Division Vice Presidents, Management Partners, and various internal departments such as accounting, legal, risk management, and asset management. Vendor and Contract Management: Evaluate and negotiate national and regional agreements, ensuring alignment with company goals and standards. Presentation and Reporting: Attend internal leadership and external partner meetings, deliver presentations, and prepare detailed reports on project progress and financial performance. Special Projects and Professional Development: Lead special projects as needed and stay current with industry trends through professional development and networking. Safety Compliance: Ensure all activities adhere to safety regulations and best practices. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 10 years in building maintenance or construction, including at least 5 years in a supervisory leadership role. Proven experience managing multi-unit facilities, including strategic planning and team development. Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and advanced spreadsheet design. Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets, including multimillion-dollar P&L responsibility and Capital improvements oversight. Collaborative team-oriented leader with strong, proactive communication skills, excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills, with a track record of successful stakeholder engagement and process improvement.
