The duties and responsibilities below will vary depending on where the incumbent will be located Library Answers moderately complex library questions and refers questions to a librarian when appropriate Locates materials including databases/electronic resources for students and faculty Provides check-in and check-out services as well as properly shelving library materials
Learning Support Updates and maintains maker space hardware and software, which may include but is not limited to 3D printers, microscopes, iPads, AV equipment, tracking software, calculators, and graphic design/video editing software Teaches basic certification, safety, and training courses covering all lab equipment Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts
General Supervision and Management
Supervises the work of Learning Commons Associates and provides guidance, when appropriate
Service Excellence Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through the Tarrant County College (TCC) Institute Supports the values of the College: teaching excellence, student success, innovation, and creativity and service to the College Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College
Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Learning Commons Managing Associate-Supplemental Instruction
*Performs other related tasks as required

Required Minimum Qualifications Associates degree or 60 hours Two (2) years of working experience related to the Essential Performance Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree At least one (1) year’s working experience as a Supplemental Instruction Leader
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and setting Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables Ability to use computer applications and enterprise systems, including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Information Job Title Senior Learning Commons Associate - Supplemental Instruction Posting Number P003627 Position Type Part-Time Position Status Part Time Grant Funded No Grant Funding Source N/A Category Instructional Support Class Code 52 Starting Pay $19.15 Department NW Supplemental Instruction Job Summary Reporting to the Learning Commons Managing Associate-Supplemental Instruction, the Senior Learning Commons Associate – Supplemental Instruction provides front-line customer service to students, employees, and the public at the College. The incumbent is responsible for cross-training in multiple areas to be able to assist with clerical, customer service, learning lab, library, and other professional duties throughout the Learning Commons. The incumbent performs instructional tasks in a laboratory setting; and assists students through tutoring and teaching. Employees at this level are also responsible for the supervision of lower-level Associates, as well as performing more advanced tasks. Senior Associates are expected to act with limited guidance and exhibit leadership in seeking out ways to improve the Learning Commons.
