We’re looking for a dynamic and creative designer to join our Learning Experience Design team and help us build amazing experiences and help employees in all Expedia Group divisions grow and improve their skills and knowledge every day.

You’ll have experience working with complex business briefs, thinking laterally to solve problems and map current and future states of skills and techniques, whilst logically structuring and simplifying to build programs that are original, impactful and measurable. You will scope learning needs and have the vision to clarify objectives and identify solutions that employ engaging story forms helping employees acquire knowledge and skills, and change behaviors. You will build content and experiences that are compelling and help learners quickly and easily understand and internalize ideas, concepts, facts and information. Great stakeholder management, identifying and engaging subject matter experts, and working closely with your colleagues, seeking and giving meaningful feedback are among the qualities that we value.

In this role, you will:

Define and execute training strategies that meet the needs of learners, stakeholders and business.

Create learning content and experiences such as multimedia self-paced e-learning modules, instructor-led training sessions, audio and video content, one-pagers, presentation decks, etc.

Conduct training needs and knowledge gap analysis in a performance consulting framework

Design effective training solutions to address learning needs and close knowledge gaps for Expedia Group.

Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to identify the expertise needed for each project, and coordinate efforts to meet business objectives and delivery deadlines.

Produce engaging course content, learning activities and knowledge assessments to measure learners’ outcomes for instructor-led, online, virtual and blended modalities.

Promote learning through self-study, practice, performance support, socialization and knowledge-sharing.

Continually evaluate solutions for quality, business impact, and scalability.

Leverage technology to improve learners’ access to knowledge and provide just in time learning.

Participate in a community of learning professionals to share best practices and identify emerging learning needs.

Experience and Qualifications:

You tell powerful stories, are ambitious, creative, have a strong eye for detail and a professional approach to timelines and deadlines. You are highly collaborative and ideally proficient in authoring and asset building tools. Here are some of the things that you will bring to our team:

5+ years’ experience in a major corporate training environment working on learning design assignments across multiple teams or groups.

Experience conducting training needs and knowledge gap analyses and selecting appropriate learning solutions to address them.

Expertise in designing, developing, planning, implementing and assessing training.

Experience developing a variety of learning modalities such as eLearning, performance support aids, online tutorials, gaming, and collaborative learning environments.

Ability to collaborate with global stakeholders, subject matter experts, and their managers.

Proven project management experience and the ability to prioritize, manage and complete concurrent projects with tight deadlines.

Ability to communicate difficult concepts and processes using clear and simple language and visuals.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in instructional design, adult learning, or a related field.

Industry certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, project management, and content-specific certifications as appropriate (e.g. CPLP, CPT, PMP, etc.).

Proficiency with eLearning authoring software (for example Articulate Rise/Storyline).

Programming and visual design skills constitute an advantage.

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $82,500.00 to $115,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $132,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
