Core responsibilities
Actively draft, negotiate and advise on complex multi-national agreements (often in an outsourcing context) with clients. This includes responding to RFP’s and supporting the entire contracting process.Review, draft, negotiate and advise on all types of contracts related to the WD business, including licensing agreements, local country agreements pursuant to a multi-country MSA, real estate services, (transaction management, project management, lease administration agreements, technology services, consulting agreements, etc.).Consult and coordinate with global legal colleagues on multi-regional opportunities and issues.Participate in EMEA Commercial Review Board meetings and present to senior executives and management on areas of legal, commercial, and operational risks present in client contracts, the existence of operational and contractual mitigants, and the scope of services to be performed.Analyse complex contractual risks and counsel business teams on operational and legal issues associated with client contracts, as well as matters of contract interpretation, implementation, and risk mitigation strategies.Advise and negotiate across a wide range of commercial legal issues including IPR, data privacy, technology services provision, employee matters in an outsourcing context and the financial structures of commercial contracts.Serve as a strategic partner to the Work Dynamics business team which includes providing legal support to help advance various business initiatives including the launch of new commercial products and service offerings.Counsel internal business clients on a wide variety of legal issues that arise in the context of performing services for JLL’s Work Dynamics client accounts.Liaise with JLL’s Risk Management Department and other internal support functions (e.g., Finance, HR, Tax, Information Security, Compliance) to identify, assess, and thoughtfully mitigate JLL’s exposure to risk.Manage, negotiate and resolve claims and disputes, including coordinating with internal litigation experts and external counsel.Mentor and supervise junior team members, with the potential for direct line management responsibilities.
Desired skills and experience for this role
Strong contract interpretation, negotiation (with minimal supervision) and drafting skills.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; must be adept at identifying key legal issues, developing creative solutions to complicated legal problems, and effectively communicating the same to internal stakeholders and clients.Experience working in the professional services sector a plus, with outsourcing particularly advantageous.Candidates with experience of working in the real estate, construction or technology services sectors would all be of interest. We will however look at qualified solicitors from any professional services background.Understanding of TUPE/ARD matters in an outsourcing context is a plus.Experience of working in a multi-national organisation is desirable.Understanding of risk management/mitigation issues as they relate to contracts for professional services.Able to conceptualize and articulate pragmatic/creative legal and business solutions to complex legal and business challenges.Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on collaboration.Able to work independently, but in a team environment.Acute attention to detail.Location:
