Senior Legal Counsel

Are you interested in working on cutting-edge, challenging projects in the technology, media and advertising space? Are you a data protection and privacy subject matter expert? If so, Re:Sources is looking for someone like you to join its legal team. The ideal candidate will provide sound legal advice and counsel to internal agencies and business units within Publicis Groupe who are focused on media, data, and technology. Each day in this role will be different, as this position supports a variety of activities. **Responsibilities** **KEY DELIVERABLES** + Contract drafting and negotiations—with a particular focus on media-related agreements and data privacy; + Assisting with litigation matters and disputes; + Guiding business teams on day-to-day operational issues; + Other various duties expected of a general practitioner. **GENERAL DUTIES** + Negotiate, review, and draft a variety of agreements, with a particular focus on data privacy and security provisions in vendor services agreements, media buying terms, and various client agreements; + Maintain current knowledge of all relevant privacy legislation and regulations necessary to draft and negotiate relevant privacy provisions; + Work closely and collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, media operations, finance, security, risk, privacy experts, and account teams on a variety of matters, which might include agency law, media buying, creative services, data ownership, data privacy compliance, IP matters, document review, dispute resolution, and internal reporting; + Provide legal and best practices training to management and account teams; + Provide support to senior members of the legal team. **COMPETENCIES** + Leadership and confidence while also being able to participate effectively and constructively as a member of a team; + Ability to exercise sound judgment and to work independently and efficiently under time pressures and deadlines in a demanding environment; + Commercially minded and having good communication and inter-personal skills to enable the individual to work with all levels of internal management and negotiate with external clients; + Possess high level of business acumen with impressive organization skills; + Ability to provide training on legal compliance and best practices; + Ability to think and write critically; + Ability to manage large volume of competing priorities strategically and practically without sacrificing attention to detail; + Ability to manage clients with a customer service-oriented approach; + A team player with a good sense of humor **Qualifications** **EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION** The experience and education qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to the following: + JD from accredited law school with an active law license to practice law in one or more states; + Privacy certification (such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US from IAPP or similar) preferred; + 4+ years of legal experience at a national or recognized regional law firm and, preferably, experience as an in-house attorney in a related field, with a minimum 2+ years of relevant privacy experience; + Experience negotiating, interpreting and drafting commercial agreements, with experience as the lead attorney; + Direct experience applying U.S. and European privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines; + Strong transactional background, including drafting and negotiating commercial transactions and counseling clients with respect to privacy and consumer protection issues. **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS** + Use of computer, speaking on telephone + Writing + Daily carrying laptop and occasional lifting of file boxes + Ability to travel **WORK CONDITIONS** + Remote/Hybrid (home internet access) and/or working in office near a Re:Sources hub location (e.g., Chicago, Boston, or New York City) currently available dependent on candidate preferences and qualifications. + Some limited travel may be required + Weekend, evening work (home internet access) as needed **Additional information** All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
