The PositionThe Opportunity:
The Senior Legal Counsel will provide legal support and advice to the Roche Diagnostics’ business in the Asia Pacific region. He/she will also collaborate closely with stakeholders on projects and initiatives, including leaders, business teams, and corporate functions. A key member of Roche’s APAC Legal Network, he/she will contribute actively to various communities of practice and working groups. The Senior Legal Counsel APAC will report to the Head of Legal Diagnostics, APAC.
The Senior Legal Counsel is responsible for
Support legal matters pertaining to the APAC region, including structuring, negotiating, and advising on commercial transactions, and collaborating with policy, regulatory, business, and product teams to review and shape legislation.
Deliver subject matter expertise by advising on a wide range of legal issues, including corporate and commercial matters, corporate governance, employment law, intellectual property and technology law, digital product licence terms and conditions, data protection and privacy law, biotech law, competition law, tax law, risk and contract management, and dispute resolution.
Product owner of the APAC Legal Leaders Forum, in terms of driving agenda creation, organisation, and planning.
Build capabilities through legal training and awareness activities, and designing and refining governance frameworks, policies, and processes.
Coordinate and monitor legal matters handled by outside counsels, and ensure that the legal panel is updated based on organisational needs.
Contribute to communities of practice and working groups.
Mentor and guide other professionals in the APAC Legal Network.
Who You Are:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Law & Bar License
Professional experience/duration: Bar Qualification
Specialist knowledge: Previous experience working in the medical devices industry will be well regarded.

The Senior Legal Counsel is expected to demonstrate the Roche Operating Principles and contribute to the Roche Group.
