Senior Legal Counsel with Focus on IT & Commercial Law

As part of Allianz Technology´s Legal Region 1 Team you will advise the company on all legal areas (except tax law and labor law). You will provide business-oriented legal advice to enable the business as well as safeguard the interests of the company, to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations and to counsel senior management. The focus of the position is IT and commercial law, in particular legal advice regarding the global procurement activities of Allianz Technology as well as the internal service delivery within Allianz Group by Allianz Technology as the global IT service provider of Allianz Group. In addition, you will be part of the Allianz Technology Group’s global Legal function and will work with colleagues from various geographies worldwide to resolve complex cross-border legal issues.

What you do

• provide business oriented legal advice with respect to all aspects of law with a focus on IT and commercial law

• draft, review and negotiate complex IT procurement contracts (e.g. IT Infrastructure, Cloud Services, Software, IT Projects)

• advise on legal aspects related to the inter-company service delivery by Allianz Technology as the global IT service provider of the Allianz Group

• provide legal advice and drive legal workstream activities for strategic intra-group IT-related restructuring projects

• raise the level of awareness and understanding in the business for legal issues, risks and mitigation measures and act as a bridge between functions and the business for handling legal challenges

• stay abreast of legal developments and industry trends to provide proactive legal advice and support

• develop and maintain legal templates and team know-how and contribute to upskilling the Legal Function not only regarding legal expertise, but also regarding technical solutions and developments (e.g. GenAI)

• oversee and steer external legal counsels, where applicable

What you bring

• German qualified lawyer (at least 16 points combined from First and Second State Exams)

• English: business fluent

• At least 5 years of proven experience in providing legal counsel within an international law firm and preferably international inhouse environment

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex legal issues and provide practical solutions

• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach to legal challenges

• Passion and curiosity for technical developments (e.g. GenAI) and a strong interest in constant upskilling & learning

• Strong negotiation and communication skills and a positive, pragmatic, and dynamic approach to legal practice
