Senior Level Component Designer - National Accounts Remote Full Time Engineered Wood & Truss Design Experienced Share (https://clumber.applytojob.com/app/share/JdMmc53Rqp)   This is a remote/virtual position. You can work from home! Carter Lumber has an amazing opportunity to be a remote Senior Level Component Designer working with our National Accounts design team. As a Senior Designer, you’ll support the design needs for our National Builders as a part of our National Design Team. In this role you will be able to use your design skills to design Roof Trusses, Floor Trusses, EWP, and Wall Panels in a whole-house design file.  A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary for this position. *MUST BE AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE U.S.* Requirements to be Considered for this Position: + 5-10 Years of experience designing Truss, EWP, and Wall Panels for Single-Family Custom or Tract Builders. + Previous experience using MiTek truss design software. SE required. + Previous experience using MiTek Management and the Tract-Master features. + High level of knowledge in the application of the products being designed. + Complete understanding of processes including: RFI, Submittals, Production Files. + Knowledgeable in reading architectural and structural plans. + Experience working in a multi-location environment. + Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook. + Competency in basic mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry. + Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and problem solve. + Strong verbal and written communication skills. Responsibilities of the Position: Designing    + Creates design illustrations based on construction documents. + Completes and finalizes engineered designs for production and assembly. + Reviews engineered designs to ensure that design standards are being met. + Communicates design information effectively with both internal and external customers. Checking and Training + Supports the Design Manager by checking engineering for component products. + Gives corrections and detailed explanations to less experienced designers. + Identifies areas for improvement and coordinates training efforts with designers. Physical Aspects + Ability to spend long periods of time on the phone and computer. + Ability to type and sit for long periods of time.
