How you will create an impact
We are looking for a motivated candidate that will work in the Casualty Italian team in cooperation with the Casualty Deputy Manager, and supporting the Head of Casualty MEDI, when needed.
This role will be a critical contributor to develop insurance business opportunities through Partners that will agree to distribute our products to their customers, with a specific focus on the MOTOR business customers (auto Liability & Own Damages) and MUNIS (Public Entities) also through the managing of public tenders by our dedicated MGA AssiB.
There will be an expectation that this role can open where AIG will lead ahead of competition.
Responsibilities will include full underwriting activities, like: developing new market opportunities, managing of the assigned current portfolio (data collection, submissions, and similar), related internal and external reporting, clients’ targeting. He/she will also be responsible for all the related technical & administrative aspects, and contribute the reaching of monthly, quarterly & annual budget goals through the profitable portfolio growth.
He/she will also assist Head of Casualty MEDI when required, as underwriting reference for the MEDI countries and related activities (reporting, referrals review, technical reference), if needed.
The responsibilities for this role include:
+ Responsible for analyzing risk and underwriting all products for MOTOR (both Auto Liability and Own Damages) and MUNIS (Public Entities).
+ Management of the existing portfolio: assures portfolio is handled in line with current guidelines/raters.
+ Accountable for underwriting and approving applications up to authority limit for all risk classifications.
+ Reviews new and renewal business submissions, evaluating account performance and risk factors.
+ Makes decisions to quote new and renewal business according to risk appetite. Rates application based on assessment of total risk and leads the development of profitable terms and conditions.
+ Documents underwriting files according to established guidelines.
+ Ensures the quality of the underwriting practice and adheres to Best Practices and underwriting policies, guidelines and procedures.
+ Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external business partners.
+ Contribute to continuous improvement of the underwriting process (service levels, turn times, error rates, customer experience, and underwriting leakage).
+ Develops renewal negotiation strategies. Presents renewal to justify rates and negotiate the renewal strategy.
+ Communicates with producers and clients to ensure common understanding of terms, conditions and ratings, and quotations; and resolves procedural and computational problems of involved, lengthy, multi-location, or difficult risks.
+ Maintains effective producer and client relationships.
+ Demonstrates intimate knowledge of current regulatory issues, economic indicators, trends and competitor strategies.
What we’re looking for:
+ Technical underwriting experience General Liability and Crisis or similar lines.
+ Knowledge of market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition and multiple distribution systems.
+ Analytical and quantitative skills.
+ Process and system skills.
+ Strong customer service ethic, with a sound understanding of the business processes.
+ Aware of legal and regulatory requirements.
+ Strong presentation, prioritization, and time management.
+ Fluent in English and Italian.
