As aSenior Linux Systems Administrator, you will: + Manage and optimize Linux-based platforms in anHPC environment,ensuring peak performance and reliability. + SupportPostgreSQLdatabases and Google TensorFlowworkflows to ensure efficient operations + Implement innovative solutions using tools likeLustreandBright Clusterto ensure reliability and performance. + Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to ensure system efficiency and data integrity Key Responsibilitiesof aSenior Linux Systems Administrator: + Plan and implement software and hardware configurations for Linux systems. + Develop and test disaster recovery solutions for mission-critical systems. + Automate routine tasks usingBASHorPython scripting. + Optimize and secure containerized environments usingPodman/DockerandAnsible. + Monitor performance, conduct system upgrades, and ensure compliance with security protocols. + Implement and maintain secure systems, applyingDoD STIGsand configuringSELinux. + Configure and managenetwork file systems (NFS)and log management solutions. + Conduct backup procedures, disaster recovery planning, and system performance optimization. + Administer data storage systems likeLustreandBright Cluster, ensuring data integrity and availability. + Support and troubleshootserver environments, responding quickly to interruptions or outages. Job Requirements What You Bring + Top Secret clearance w/SCI eligibility. + Bachelor’s degree in STEM(or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree). + 10-12 years of IT Systems Administration experience, including: + 5-7 yearsof Linux administration, with expertise incontainerization (Podman/Docker), Ansible, and OpenLDAP + Ability to configure mount points, add and expand hard disk space, make drives persistent, and implement NFS drives + Capable of performing backup procedures using tar and gzip, configuring log management, and analyzing logs + Experienced with implementing DoD STIGs, configuring SELinux + Proven experience withVMware vSphere(v7 or higher) and PostgreSQL databases. + Proficiency inBASH and Python scriptingfor automation. Certifications Required: + ActiveDoD 8140 IAT II Level Certification(e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+) REQUIRED + CurrentRHCSA or RHCEcertification REQUIRED (or the ability to obtain the RHCSA within 6 months of hire) AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary/hourly range for this position is $160,000-180,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
