The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. This role can be based in one of our Northern California locations (Mountain View or San Francisco), New York, or Washington D.C. As Senior Litigation Counsel at LinkedIn and a member of LinkedIn’s Litigation, Competition, and Enforcement team, you will be responsible for managing all kinds of litigation and pre-litigation disputes. You will also handle subpoenas and regulatory responses, oversee eDiscovery on your matters, and provide litigation and regulatory risk counseling related to LinkedIn business issues. Responsibilities: + Manage all kinds of litigation and pre-litigation disputes across the globe for the company, including consumer class actions, IP, employment, and commercial lawsuits, disputes brought by individual platform users, and more + Dig into the business and legal context of your matters in order to drive strategic and tactical case decisions + Develop the best possible evidentiary record for your cases by investigating sources of information available across the business + Handle subpoenas and regulatory inquiries, and other litigation-adjacent matters + Work to establish internal practices to mitigate litigation risks, ensure effective responses when such risks materialize, and to efficiently respond to a growing volume of matters + Drive good business results by providing practical legal advice on a range of product issues impacted by active or threatened litigation matters + Engage and manage outside counsel and vendors to ensure the delivery of practical, efficient, and expert litigation advice and service + Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives for the Legal & Public Policy Team, LinkedIn, and the community + Play an active role in fulfilling LinkedIn's mission of connecting the world's professionals to make them more productive and successful by being an integral member of our fast-paced, well-rounded, collaborative (and fun!) Legal & Public Policy Team Basic Qualifications: + J.D. and admission to the bar or the ability to practice in-house in your office location + 6+ years of combined litigation experience at a law firm, in-house, and/or governmental agencies Preferred Qualifications: + Broad litigation experience including discovery, motion practice, oral arguments, trials, drafting compelling briefs, pre-suit activity, mediation, and settlement negotiations + Comfort with eDiscovery support software and complicated data, business records systems, and eDiscovery issues + Experience and comfort with highly-technical subject matter + Experience working in-house at a technology company or working closely with global technology clients + Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively both independently and in cross-functional teams to drive results + Excellent judgment and analytical abilities, impeccable integrity, and a good sense of humor Suggested Skills: + Litigation + Privacy Litigation + Class Action Defense + Regulatory Response LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $149,000 to $242,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific office location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
