Senior Logistics Planner (Location: JB)
**Key Responsibilities** Interpret, analyze, and present metrics/KPIs to Management. Drive corrective actions with appropriate groups to improve metrics and address exceptions. Lead the design and implementation of new business processes. Develop and drive process improvement projects to increase service level performance and/or minimize costs. Project scope is moderate in complexity and has regional impact; includes integration of processes with Outsourced Logistics Operations providers. Weekly review of process control exceptions that result in reported distribution quality non-conformance issues. Develop and document root cause and corrective actions, and work with outsourced and regional logistics partners to implement. Support the development of cost estimates and demand forecasts for logistics modeling and tracking Perform reconciliations, validations and audits of warehouse inventory operations. Work closely with Management to implement corrective actions. Evaluate data against audit requests and ensure completeness of data. Assist the Organization Audit Focal prepare for the internal/external audits. Create and submit claims for AMAT lost or damaged materials and assist suppliers with their parts claims. Coordinate with internal organizations to provide additional data if required for freight claims. Support escalations from internal and external providers Prepares, reviews & approves files for import/export documents such as customs declarations, (SLI) shippers letter of instruction, SED (shipper's export declaration), IC (import certificate), etc. required for the lawful completion of import/export activities. Audits and reviews, ensuring that commercial and sales invoices are accurate in accordance with physical shipment and customer's SLI, quantities, value of goods, country of origin, and other regulatory requirements. Administers the efficient and economical movement of goods in compliance with relevant local, country and international customs laws and processes. Worldwide Manufacturing Organization (WMO) Logistics Operations (WMO Senior Logistics Planner – Malaysia) **Key Responsibilities** This single contributor role will report to the Snr Director, Logistics Operations. He/she will be responsible for the setting up of WMO Malaysia (Hub) operations and managing existing Malaysia warehouse that supports strategic buys. This includes import/exports processes, warehouse operations and driving logistics partners in the day-to-day executions. The Malaysia (Hub) warehouse will replenish into the Singapore (Spoke) warehouse. The role will thus also require strong collaboration with the Singapore (Spoke) warehouse operations team to ensure that materials flow between Malaysia-Singapore borders are effectively managed from a cost, quality and delivery lead-time perspective. The role is based in Johore Bahru Malaysia. Hired as a single contributor, potential to grow into a people manager as Applied scale the organization in MY Specifically, the role will be responsible for the following activities: + Functional Accountabilities + Manage logistics warehousing and material flow operations in Malaysia in support of the Singapore Spoke / Asia Production Center (APC) + Manage and drive 3rd party logistics provider in effective process designs, day to day executions, process continuous improvement, warehouse capacity planning, productivity improvement and space optimization. + Establish Key Process Indicators (KPI) and Scorecard metrics. Generate reports, maintains performance and drive 3PL on corrective actions + Drive process optimization in materials trucking and replenishment into the Singapore Spoke warehouse. + Drive efforts of warehouse consolidation, densifications and lead warehouse migration activities + Provide logistics expertise and collaborate with cross functional teams (Supply Chain, Tax & Trade) to establish logistics support infrastructure and material flow designs as and when business requirements changes + Collaborate with internal IT team to provide SAP expertise in process design, training and user operations support for any SAP change projects + Develop good understanding of Malaysia/Singapore import/exports requirements and ensure warehouse shipping process compliance + Manage escalations, define problem statement, data analyze and drive corrective actions alongside with 3PL and AMAT Quality Team. + Responsible for warehouse inventory control and finance reporting. Drive excess/aging inventory reduction through collaboration with cross functional and SGP Logistics teams + Seek opportunities to introduce automation and technology into the warehouse operations to drive labor and space productivity improvement + Ensure Logistics compliance and controls to Applied Safety Standards + Work closely with management to align and drive corporate initiatives + Collaboration + Partner with Applied Packaging to seek out opportunities of packaging improvements to ensure product safety and logistics cost productivity. + Partner with Industrial Engineering team to seek opportunities in productivity, space, capacity improvement and technology adoption. + Partner with Logistics Data Team to enable and adopt operations data visualizations and reports + Partner with 3PL to seek out opportunities for cost, efficiency and quality improvement initiatives **Minimum Requirements: Education & Experience** + Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, logistics operations, transportation management, supply chain, or related field. + Demonstrated experience and track records in leading logistics operations / projects and driven process improvements. + Minimum 8-10 years relevant operations experience in Logistics disciplines. + At least 8-10 years’ experience in Logistics Service Providers management Knowledge & Skills: + Demonstrates in-depth understanding of concepts, theories and principles in own job family and basic knowledge of other related job families + Demonstrate high sense of urgency + Taking accountability and follow ups to ensure assigned tasks/projects are completed in a timely manner. + Highly adaptable in a fast paced, dynamic environment + SAP knowledge is an added advantage + Guides, influences, and persuades others internally in related areas or externally to drive results. + Self-driven and proactive in approach + Attention to details and analytical in problem solving. + Analytical and use of data to drive solutions. + Ability to deal with ambiguity and adapt flexibly + Guided by policies and resource requirements within business unit, department or sub-function. + Knowledge of Problem-Solving Tools (such as 8D, DMAIC). + Good communication skills at all levels both written and oral. **Job Nature** + Full Time Employee + Location Based: Malaysia Johore Bahru + Travel Requirement: 50% before and during operations startup, 25% upon Go-Live.
