Our client, a leading consultancy with a reputation for delivering world-class projects across a diverse range of industries dedicated to ensuring quality, safety, and sustainability is now urgently looking for an experienced Senior M&E Cost Manager. As Senior M&E Cost Manager you will lead the financial management of Mechanical and Electrical packages across large-scale construction and oversee cost planning, budget control, procurement, and risk management for M&E services, ensuring the successful delivery of projects within budget and in line with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
Develop accurate M&E cost plans and budgets from feasibility to final design stages across the region ensuring that all mechanical and electrical services are cost appropriate to meet project objectives.
Manage the procurement process for M&E packages, including preparation of tender documents, evaluation of bids, and negotiation of contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle, providing detailed cost forecasts and financial reports.
Identify and implement value engineering opportunities to optimise M&E solutions without compromising on quality, performance, or safety.
Identify potential cost risks associated with M&E services, develop mitigation strategies, and provide advice on financial implications of design changes and technical decisions when required.
Assess and manage variations to M&E packages, ensuring that all changes are documented and negotiated effectively with contractors and stakeholders.
Ensure all contractual obligations are met by subcontractors and suppliers, in line with NEC, JCT, or other relevant contracts.
Work closely with design teams, project managers, and clients to ensure cost transparency and alignment with project goals.
Attend regular project meetings and provide input on M&E cost matters.
Provide detailed financial reports for senior management and clients, including cost-to-complete forecasts and cash flow projections.
Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent, chartered status with RICS, CIOB, or similar is desirable.
Considerable experience in M&E cost management, with a proven record of accomplishments on residential, commercial, hotels, mixed use developments, and healthcare projects.
Strong understanding of M&E services.
Excellent financial management skills, with the ability to control costs, forecast expenditures, and maximise value.
Familiarity with standard forms of contracts.
Proficient in cost management software and Microsoft Office tools.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and negotiate effectively with stakeholders.
