Senior M&E Project Engineer

Clover Leaf Solutions is seeking a Senior Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Project Engineer to ensure the highest quality of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) construction work aligns with project-specific cost and schedule requirements. This role serves as a liaison between the Client, M&E Project Manager, and Subcontractors, ensuring smooth project execution from initial plans to closeout.

A successful M&E Project Engineer is detail-oriented, proactive, and innovative, with strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills. This position requires excellent collaboration with project teams, vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to maintain quality, safety, and efficiency throughout the construction process.

Key Responsibilities: Interpret contract documents (drawings, specifications, phasing plans, M&E systems interrelationships, construction sequencing, and schedules). Facilitate problem-solving between M&E subcontractors during construction. Validate design issues related to M&E systems and work with the team to find solutions. Maintain accurate as-built documentation for M&E changes. Assist in scope review, budgeting, and justifications for M&E change orders. Monitor and direct M&E subcontractors to ensure quality, compliance, and safety. Act as liaison with consultant M&E engineers, inspectors, and project stakeholders. Ensure adherence to quality control standards and project safety regulations. Assist in the testing and commissioning of M&E equipment. Develop subcontractor scope of work and define scope delineation. Maintain and organize job files (RFIs, specifications, contracts, and drawings). Prepare, review, and distribute RFIs, submittals, and contract documents in compliance with project requirements. Procure and monitor material deliveries to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness. Ensure project execution within established financial parameters. Develop and maintain job progress schedules, ensuring work stays on track. Execute subcontracts, verify insurance compliance, and define work responsibilities for subcontractors and vendors. Manage the procurement log, change orders, and self-perform quantity takeoffs. Oversee project closeout activities, including compiling operation and maintenance manuals. Perform other duties relevant to the project’s success. Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (CEM), or equivalent experience. Strong knowledge of construction plans, prints, specifications, and schematics related to M&E trades. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) construction procedures. Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication and organizational skills. Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet Fortis’ driving record policy. Physical Requirements: Work is performed on an active construction site. Standing or walking for extended periods is required. Use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. Regular communication with internal and external stakeholders. Occasionally lifting and moving equipment up to 50 lbs.
