About the role (responsibilities) At Cognizant, we're seeking talented Senior Machine Learning Consulting Engineers to join our Data & AI practice within Technology Consulting. As a key member of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and implementing innovative solutions that leverage the power of platforms such as databricks to solve complex business challenges using machine learning. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping our clients optimize their ML implementations and extract maximum value from their data investments.

The Senior ML Consulting Engineer is responsible for:

Drive ML strategy and deliver business outcomes through innovative Databricks solutions Lead complex machine learning projects using Databricks and distributed computing, handling large datasets and complex models Design and implement enterprise-grade generative AI solutions using Databricks' ML capabilities Develop state-of-the-art machine learning models using techniques like deep learning, reinforcement learning, and generative AI Create and optimize MLOps workflows using Databricks' ML tools and best practices Conduct comprehensive data analysis to identify patterns and trends, building models on a solid foundation of data understanding Implement robust data pipelines to ensure data quality, consistency, and efficiency Design and implement ML solutions that scale effectively on Azure and/or AWS Optimise model performance through techniques like hyperparameter tuning, feature engineering, and model selection Lead technical pre-sales activities and proof-of-concept development for ML solutions Deploy and monitor machine learning models in production environments Develop and maintain machine learning infrastructure and tools Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align machine learning models with business objectives Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning, data engineering, and generative AI Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of knowledge sharing

About You:

Technology Consulting involves exciting, fast-paced work, dealing with a variety of stakeholders, clients, and consultants. You need to be someone that can deal with ambiguity, thrive on change, and manage your own time effectively. We want someone that genuinely focuses on client outcomes, with a high degree of integrity. At Cognizant we value consultants that have a high IQ, enjoy problem solving, and a willingness to serve. You will need to be confident presenting to both business and technology stakeholders, leading cross functional geographically dispersed teams, and have strong negotiating and collaboration for outcomes skills. Above all, you should have a positive attitude, and enjoy working with consultants from a diverse range of backgrounds, on a variety of fast paced engagements.

Base capability requirements include:

3+ years of experience using Databricks, demonstrating deep understanding of the platform and its ML capabilities Strong consulting experience with proven ability to deliver business outcomes Solid understanding of data science concepts, including statistical modeling, data mining, and data visualization Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) for Databricks deployment and management Advanced knowledge of data engineering principles, ETL processes, and data pipelines Expert proficiency in Python and popular ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, XGBoost) Experience with large language models and generative AI implementation Strong understanding of MLOps practices and tools Proven experience in solution architecture and technical pre-sales Experience in managing client relationships and stakeholder expectations Strong business acumen and ability to translate ML solutions into business value Excellent communication skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders

Additional skills which would be highly desirable:

Experience with Databricks' latest generative AI capabilities Expertise in Delta Lake and Spark Structured Streaming Knowledge of Databricks Unity Catalog and MLflow Model Registry Experience with real-time ML systems and model serving Multi-cloud implementation experience
