Senior Machine Operator
**2nd Shift: 2PM-12AM** SAFETY + Consistent leader and model for following all safety protocol. + Inspect machines/tools prior to use and understand safety interlocks and light curtains. + Proactive communication of potential safety hazards and risks for the department in whole. + Wear appropriate PPE (gloves, glasses, ear plugs, and safety toe shoes). QUALITY + Accurately operate and read tape measure, calipers, squaring table, protractor, and feeler gauges. + Understands frequency of calibration procedure on all measuring equipment. + Demonstrate QC part specification knowledge and capable of checking product against drawings and visual inspection standards. + Accurately complete quality check sheets and understand frequency of inspection criteria. + Proactive in locating potential non-conformities for all processes in the department. + Understand the negative effects of non-conforming raw material in processing. + Consistent, high performance in first pass yield. + Able to provide industrial knowledge to support the quality of products when concerning design and functionality. PRODUCTION + Good attendance and able to work overtime when necessary. + Communicate with material handlers to provide accurate material at the machine, preventing downtime. + Ability to train others in setup and operation of various machines. + Full understanding of assembly and packaging operations and able to organize these operations efficiently. + Leader in the accuracy of data entry into ERP system and able to troubleshoot ERP issues. + Actively working toward continuous improvement activities (safety, 5S, housekeeping, process flow). + Top performer that increases companywide and departmental metrics (safety, quality, efficiency). + Actively aids teammates in upholding and maintaining departmental standards including quality, production, and on-time delivery. + Full understanding of drawings/blueprints and consistently flags drawing issues before processing begins. + Able to organize Production Order paperwork and drawings to create job traveler packet. + A main point of contact for understanding and resolving quality and machine issues and capabilities. + Active contributor in SQCD meetings at start of shift and weekly Safety Chat conducted by supervision and EHS. + Active involvement in continuously improving safety, quality, and processes. + Able to conduct all PM activities without assistance, a support contributor to the Maintenance Team. + Active contributor in Waste Reduction. + Navigate Production Orders in ERP system for information gathering (routing, material, drawing location, etc.). + Perform other duties as requested by supervision. + Additional industrial knowledge (programming, CAD software, certifications, etc.). + Main contributor in new product development with beneficial knowledge of processing capabilities and field performance. **Qualifications:** + High School Diploma or GED + 5+ years in a manufacturing environment + SAP and EWM application + Basic knowledge of production procedures + Must have an excellent attendance record + Ability to use email in a professional work environment along with proper email etiquette. + Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner via phone, email, or personal interaction with both internal employees and outside vendors and customers. + Analytical and Troubleshooting Skills + Attention to Detail + Basic experience with Microsoft Office Products-- + Ability to read production drawings + Customer Relationship Management This position is considered to operate at the highest performance in all aspects of manufacturing, including exceptional industrial knowledge. Proactive involvement in continuous improvement activities involving safety, quality, cost reduction, and process flow is expected. The operator is highly successful in the operation of different machinery by following standard safety, quality, and processing procedures. This position works closely with all complimentary departments on the full scope of projects moving through the department. Operator must be flexible and adaptable to assignment changes and will jump in and help when needed.
