GENERAL PURPOSE

Responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex equipment or automated machinery, depending on departmental processes. This role ensures the production of high-quality products delivered on time to meet customer needs. Collaborates with team members to troubleshoot issues, drive solutions, and promote continuous improvement. Maintains a strong focus on safety and may serve as an area trainer for equipment and processes, assisting in the development of departmental guidelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist in the repair, calibration, and troubleshooting of 5-axis CNC routers.
Derive dimensional information and calculations from various types of technical drawings.
Perform equipment setup, loading, operation, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
Conduct SPC/Quality checks using measuring tools and devices; respond to data to maintain specifications.
Read, interpret, and understand routings, technical drawings, and BOMs to ensure products meet quality expectations.
Test new programs for product development and production patterns.
Work closely with engineering to ensure accurate programming for machinery.
Complete all required documentation accurately to maintain record integrity.
Commit to overtime as required by business needs.
Rotate through workstations as needed to meet departmental and business goals.
Train team members and assist in developing training tools as needed.
Lead and actively participate in MKPS (MillerKnoll Performance System) and other improvement initiatives.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with 5S principles.
Demonstrate flexibility and leadership to meet team, department, and organizational objectives.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support business objectives.

Education/Experience

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience demonstrating performance competency.
Minimum of 3 years of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.

Skills and Abilities

Strong math skills, including the ability to understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GDT), as required by department processes.
Proficient in the use of measuring tools and devices, such as calipers, gauges, and tape measures.
Ability to perform, develop, and teach preventative maintenance practices.
Proficient in reading, interpreting, and communicating technical instructions, work documentation, and policies written in English.
Demonstrated ability to read and teach technical drawings.
Skilled in accessing and using information systems and databases.
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to mentor and influence others to achieve goals.
Demonstrated commitment to reliability, team success, and adaptability in a changing environment.
Ability to complete all required job training and adjust to changing assignments or schedules as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to bend, twist, and stand for extended periods (up to 10-12 hours).
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
