Role: Senior Mainframe Developer

Job Description
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop scalable, high-performance IT solutions using Mainframe related skills such as COBOL, DB2, JCL, VSAM, Eztrieve, TSO, IMS DC, CICS, Sort, Icetool, Fileaid
• Interact with clients to get business requirements and system requirements; conduct meetings with clients, business analysts and participating teams to discuss design solutions and prepare requirement specifications and project plans
• Develop Mainframe batch jobs to establish near real time database capture mechanisms through which data from legacy systems will be stored in Azure Cloud based servers.
• Work on Agile Model delivery and operations/Product maintenance support activities, provide estimation for requirements using Estimation Techniques
• Work on reverse engineering the current legacy system and created business documentation on the complex legacy flows

Skills:
• Extensive working experience on Mainframe related skills such as COBOL, DB2, JCL, VSAM, Eztrieve, TSO, IMS DC, CICS, Sort, Icetool, Fileaid
• Hands-on experience in tools like Librarian, Change man, CA7 Scheduler, ZEKE Scheduler, OPC Scheduler, Xpeditor, QMF, SPUFI, File-aid, File Manager, Platinum tool for DB2, Jira, Service now
• Ability to work in an agile development environment and deliver high-quality code within deadlines.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure as this position is for a Mainframe to cloud migration project

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
