Essential Functions of the position are detailed below and include any physical requirements checked below: + Provides HVAC support to the Housing Services Department by installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and cooling units for residential buildings to ensure compliance with all Agency/programmatic policies and procedures, professional standards, and external requirements of all relevant regulatory, licensing, or accrediting bodies + Diagnoses, repairs, and troubleshoots mechanical and electrical components of heating, ventilation and cooling systems + Obtains any replacement parts and calibrates systems to the manufacturer's recommendations + Coordinates with outside consultants, contractors, and vendors, as needed + Assists Physical Plant Operations Engineer with the implementation and management of a preventative maintenance plan + Assists in maintaining physical plant of building including, but not limited to; plumbing, electrical, back flow testing, fire suppression systems, and booster pumps + Maintains good working order of company tools and reports any mechanical issues to supervisory chain + Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in Agency vehicle + Handles work orders in a prompt, efficient, and safe manner + Responsible for handling and/or coordinating services to resolve any HVAC related emergencies, as needed PLEASE NOTE: Essential functions include all other duties and responsibilities as assigned X Kneel and move from sitting, bending, kneeling, or standing multiple times a day X Push and pull objects up to 50 poundsX Climb up and down up to 6 flights of stairs at a timeX Lift up to 50 poundsX Additional Requirements: Job duties may need to be performed outdoors in varying weather conditions; Must be able to reach in all directions and climb a ladder, when neededOther Requirements: Comply with program and/or Agency requirements related to: X Background check, including any program specific requirements Physical examination Drug Testing TB TestingX Driver's License and reliable transportation X Agency-specified automobile insurance Additional Requirements: Immediate Supervisor: Physical Plant Operations EngineerDirectly Supervises: N/AIndirectly Supervises: N/A Education and Experience Requirements: Relevant Education:Preferred: High SchoolMinimum: GEDRelevant Experience:Preferred: 3+ years of HVAC experience Minimum: 1-2 years of HVAC experience Certification/Licensure:Preferred: Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification Minimum: 1-2 years of trade school
