Senior Maintenance Engineer
**Maintenance Subject Matter Expert (SME)** **Location:** Arlington, TX **Salary:** Starting at $78k, dependent upon experience **Industry:** Manufacturing **Employment Type:** Full-Time **Position Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled **Maintenance Subject Matter Expert (SME)** to provide technical leadership, optimize maintenance operations, and ensure equipment reliability within our facility. This role requires in-depth expertise in maintenance best practices, troubleshooting, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The SME will serve as a key resource for the maintenance team, driving efficiency, safety, and operational excellence. **Key Responsibilities:** **Technical Expertise & Support** + Serve as the primary expert for troubleshooting and resolving complex maintenance issues. + Develop and implement predictive and preventive maintenance strategies. + Support root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective actions. **Process Optimization** + Analyze maintenance workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime. + Recommend and integrate industry best practices for asset management and reliability. + Oversee spare parts inventory management to ensure availability without excess costs. **Compliance & Safety** + Ensure maintenance activities comply with OSHA, ISO 45001, and industry safety regulations. + Develop and enforce maintenance procedures in line with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 55001 standards. + Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions to improve workplace safety. **Training & Mentorship** + Provide hands-on training and mentorship to maintenance personnel. + Develop training materials, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and best practice guidelines. + Guide technicians in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and equipment optimization techniques. **Reliability Engineering & Continuous Improvement** + Utilize **Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM)** and **Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)** . + Implement **Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM)** and predictive maintenance technologies. + Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance equipment design and maintainability. **Data Analysis & Reporting** + Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as **MTTR, MTBF, and OEE** to drive improvements. + Generate reports on equipment performance, maintenance costs, and downtime trends. + Recommend capital investments for long-term reliability and efficiency improvements. **Qualifications & Skills:** **Education & Experience** + Bachelor's degree in **Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Maintenance Engineering** (or equivalent experience). + **7+ years** of experience in **maintenance, reliability, or asset management** within manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or industrial facilities. **Technical Skills** + Expertise in **CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)** . + Strong knowledge of **predictive maintenance technologies** (vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, oil analysis). + Proficiency in **PLC troubleshooting, electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics** . + Understanding of **Lean Manufacturing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and Six Sigma** principles. **Soft Skills** + **Proactive and self-motivated** with the ability to **take initiative and work independently** . + Strong **problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making** skills. + Excellent **communication and leadership** abilities for training and mentoring teams. + Ability to **work cross-functionally** with engineering, production, and safety teams. **Work Environment:** + Industrial or manufacturing facility setting with hands-on involvement in maintenance activities. + Occasional travel required for audits, training, and implementation of best practices.
