These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations. Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Maintenance Mechanic for Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). The position works independently in a “zone”, or as the only Maintenance Mechanic on a particular campus reporting directly to a second level supervisor.
Among the key duties of this position are the following: May guide and instruct other staff in the performance of a wide range of mechanical maintenance duties to repair and maintain equipment in good operating condition. Such duties may be based on work orders which provide little or no instruction or assistance. Responsible for estimation of work and procuring appropriate materials for him/herself or the group. May guide and instruct craft trainees. May perform any duties of the group. Verifies results of work performed by the outside vendors.
