We are seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to join our Product Development team at Donaldson Company. This role requires an experienced and self-motivated problem solver with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership for the successful outcome of individual and team efforts. You will own the preventative maintenance program and keep machinery running! You will be a key member on a product development team.
Role Responsibilities:
Performs troubleshooting and repair of plant and test equipment in a manner which is safe, timely, effective, and minimizes equipment downtime.
Develops, implements, maintains and performs preventive maintenance program on plant and test equipment in coordination with development and production schedules to minimize downtime.
Duties and tasks reflect substantial variety and complexity – mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic
Performs and maintains calibration on equipment, sensors and test equipment
Takes ownership for safety audits/inspections
Maintains repair records for all plant equipment regarding parts and labor hours used for cost tracking and capital planning and acquisition purposes.
Places orders for replacement and spare parts and organizes parts and supplies.
Develops and maintains appropriate spare parts and supply inventories.
Recommends designs and/or executes improvements to machines that facilitate improvements in development/production process.
Leads (TPM) Total Productive Maintenance Lean events at the plant to ensure each machine is functioning at optimal levels and promoting continuous improvements.
Maintains favorable working relations with outside contractors in order to resolve problems associated with maintenance.
Works under general supervision and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
May orient, train, assign and check the work of lower-level employees
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma and 8 years related work experience
Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical/pneumatic schematics.
Mechanical aptitude and design knowledge to creatively develop solutions and in-house adaptations to equipment and machinery.
Ability to analyze equipment failures and find the root cause for breakdowns.
Preferred Qualifications:
2-year technical degree (i.e. automation or manufacturing technology or similar program + 5 years related experience)
Chemical and web handling experience
Good communication skills and the ability to effectively work with people
This role is onsite in Bloomington, MN M - F, may require some on call shifts and OT weekends - full breakdown provided by recruitment partner during screening.
