Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated facilities team at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of hospital equipment and infrastructure. This includes conducting routine inspections, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, and coordinating with external contractors for specialized services. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant environment for patients and staff. You will also mentor junior technicians, ensuring best practices and regulatory standards are consistently met.

Completes work requisitions assigned. Repairs, installs, replaces, and makes changes only as directed on work requests or as directed by supervisor/manager.Completes Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance work requests as assigned (training and/or education to be provided by Manager of Plant Maintenance or designee).Provides support for other Maintenance personnel as required.Provides training for other Maintenance personnel in areas of expertise requested by Supervisor or Manager of Plant Maintenance.Performs routine rounds as requested and monitors necessary equipment and conditions.Performs routine maintenance on following systems: Plumbing, Electrical, Patient Beds, HVAC, Refrigeration and Fire Prevention Equipment.Works well without direct supervision.Dignity Health now offers an Education Benefit program for benefit-eligible employees after 180 days. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Five (5) years experience in a general maintenance or similar position.Experience in three (3) or more of the following areas: Refrigeration certification, HVAC (Chillers, Air Handlers, Cooling Towers), Pneumatic or Electromechanical Controls, Boilers, Water Treatment, Plumbing, Electrical and/or Sterilizers.High School Diploma GED or Equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
