Job Description
Grace is hiring a Senior Maintenance Technician to join our facility services team located at our corporate headquarters in Columbia, MD. This role reports to the Senior Supervisor, Facility Services and is a Monday - Friday 40/hr/week work schedule.
As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you will oversee, supervise and participate in the installation, maintenance and repair of all interior and exterior surfaces on the Corporate campus.
Responsibilities Complete assigned preventative maintenance and work orders requests assigned via CMMS. Communicate with office, lab and leadership associates when scheduling work. Schedule and oversee work being performed by contractors, which includes enforcing Grace’s safety policies, Critical Life Safety (CLS) and non CLS permit guidelines. Maintain and make repairs to building surfaces throughout campus Relocate and/or dispose of various equipment and materials on campus. Maintain or obtain required certifications (forklift and other). Maintain maintenance supplies inventory and place orders. Oversee the fleet vehicle maintenance program. Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer concerns. Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions with an emphasis on preventative maintenance opportunities. Physical Requirements and Environment Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings. Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft. Required Qualifications H.S. Diploma or equivalent and/or Trade School. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in facilities maintenance and/or carpentry. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Effective verbal and written communication skills. Valid driver’s license. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel), Outlook and other computer-based programs Intermediate to advanced knowledge of performing carpentry and commercial building repairs to include painting, drywall, VCT, drop ceilings installation and repairs. Ability to use and care for tools and equipment used in a safe manner.
