JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, A/V Control Room Production is responsible for the operational reliability, maintenance, and strategic life‑cycle planning of all visual control room equipment across the Oakland Arena and Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. The role manages service agreements, warranties, and vendor relationships (including Daktronics, Diversified, and VITEC), supervises part‑time event operators, and serves as the primary technical liaison to clients, ensuring that content specifications and system capabilities align for every event.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize control‑room systems (video switchers, replay servers, graphics engines, routers, intercom, and audio integration).Own preventive maintenance schedules, firmware/OS updates, and coordinate all repairs and upgrades with manufacturers and integrators.Serve as primary contact for Daktronics, Diversified, VITEC, and other technology partners; administer service level agreements and warranties.Hire, train, schedule, and supervise part‑time technical staff for event‑day operations (replay, graphics, scoreboard, IPTV, etc.).Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for equipment use, content ingest, and emergency troubleshooting.Interface with clients, promoters, and internal departments to communicate system capabilities and deliver detailed technical specifications for content.Provide staffing requirements and labor cost estimates for each event based on production scope and client needs.Assist in configuration and monitoring of the VITEC digital signage/IPTV platform, ensuring playlist integrity and timely content updates.Maintain comprehensive inventory records, track asset depreciation, and develop 3‑ to 5‑year capital replacement plans with budget forecasts.Document signal flow diagrams, rack elevations, and cable schedules; keep technical drawings up to date.Ensure all operations comply with safety standards and venue policies; facilitate ongoing staff training and certifications.ASM GLOBAL reserves the right to change or modify the employee’s job description whether orally or in writing, at any time during the employment relationship. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Broadcast Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field — or equivalent professional experience.5+ years of progressive experience in broadcast control‑room or large‑venue AV operations, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.Hands‑on proficiency with broadcast video systems (Ross, EVS, Evertz, or equivalent), Daktronics control software, and IP video standards (SMPTE 2110/2022‑6).Working knowledge of digital signage/IPTV systems, preferably VITEC EZ TV, and audio integration.Strong vendor negotiation, budgeting, and project‑management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities under live‑event pressure.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer‑centric mindset.Preferred certifications: CTS‑I/CTS‑D, Daktronics Control Room Professional, or equivalent manufacturer credentials.Ability to lift 50 lbs, work at heights/ladders, and tolerate high‑noise, low‑light environments common to live events.Must have the ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hours during events.The essential responsibilities of this position are described under the headings above.
