Senior Manager – Workplace Investing & Fidelity Health Accounting & Controllership

The Role

The Senior Manager on the Workplace Investing (WI) and Fidelity Health Corporate Accounting & Controllership team will have responsibilities for both leading and performing financial reporting activities in support of WI & Healthcare Group entities and working with business and finance partners to ensure accuracy of our financial results. The senior manager will also be focused on streamlining accounting close activities and supporting the team’s various modernization efforts and projects.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA and/or advanced degree preferred8+ years of relevant accounting experience, public accounting and financial services experience a plusSolid understanding of US GAAP accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controlsExperience providing coaching, feedback, leadership, and direction to a team as well as training and guiding less experienced team membersExperience with, or demonstrated ability to learn, complex financial systems and multi-dimensional reporting tools (e.g., Oracle, FFP, PowerBI)Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines, working both independently and as part of a team to drive work deliverables to completionAbility to work closely with finance, accounting, and business partners to ensure transactions are accurately reflected in the general ledgerAbility to provide well written financial commentary on monthly or quarterly results and present these results during financial reporting reviewsCan coordinate and lead the preparation of financial reports, engage with auditors, and lead our response to audit requests and inquiriesAbility to identify internal control issues and to recommend solutions or improvementsAbility to research accounting guidance and apply to areas you are responsible for, which may include new transactions or changes to product offeringsCan identify operational improvements and recommend changes to existing business and system processesCan independently lead special project teams to implement changes while also recognizing the need for help and asking for support when needed
