Job Overview:The Senior Manager, Accounting – Revenue, will lead and oversee all aspects of revenue accounting for a SaaS company, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and GAAP. This position plays a pivotal role in managing the revenue recognition process, optimizing billing systems, and analyzing key SaaS metrics. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in subscription-based revenue models, implementation and service revenue, experience managing direct reports, and a strong understanding of NetSuite.Key ResponsibilitiesRevenue Recognition and ComplianceLead the revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant standards.Review customer contracts to identify performance obligations and allocate revenue accordingly.Maintain and reconcile deferred revenue schedules and oversee the monthly revenue close process.Provide technical accounting guidance for new product launches and pricing models.Billing and Systems Management Oversee billing operations to ensure accurate and timely invoicing for subscription and usage-based services.Leverage expertise in NetSuite to optimize revenue management workflows and reporting processes.Partner with IT, Coudops and finance teams to enhance ERP and CRM integrations, driving process automation and efficiency.Financial Reporting and Metrics AnalysisPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports for management and external stakeholders.Analyze revenue trends and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.Track and report key SaaS metrics such as MRR, ARR, churn, and customer lifetime value.Audit and Compliance SupportEnsure adherence to internal controls for revenue processes and collaborate on compliance efforts.Support external audits by providing detailed documentation and analyses for revenue accounts.Team Leadership and Cross-Functional CollaborationManage and mentor a team of revenue accountants, fostering professional development and growth.Build and maintain a high-performing team, providing clear direction, feedback, and support.Collaborate with sales, legal, and customer success teams to evaluate revenue impacts of contracts, promotions, and renewals.Act as a strategic partner in the evaluation of pricing strategies and revenue-related initiatives.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification required.8+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on revenue recognition and SaaS operations.Proven experience managing direct reports, with strong leadership and mentoring skills.Expertise in NetSuite, with the ability to leverage its functionalities for revenue management (ARM) and reporting.Deep knowledge of ASC 606, GAAP, and subscription-based revenue models.Experience with financial systems such as Zuora or Salesforce is a plus.Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data visualization tools.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset.Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.Experience with audit processes and SOX compliance preferred.If required for this role, you will:- Complete security & privacy literacy and awareness training during onboarding and annually thereafter- Review (initially and annually thereafter), understand, and adhere to Information Security/Privacy Policies and Procedures such as (but not limited to):
