JOB PURPOSE

The ideal candidate for this role must be a thought leader with a demonstrated ability to approach benefits in innovative and exciting ways. This benefits leader will be responsible for the design of cost effective and competitive benefit programs to attract and retain employees. This position manages the company’s health plans (including medical, prescription drug, and dental), welfare plans (including life, AD&D, STD, LTD), HSA, FSA digital navigation platform, point solutions and other voluntary employee benefits.
This role works closely with the Benefits Specialists and Service Delivery teams on implementation of new programs and must develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (vendors/consultants).
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
Develop and deliver a multi-year strategy which drives the evolution of the active employee benefits programs offered.
Lead annual review of the benefit plans for cost effectiveness, competiveness and benefit trends.
Subject matter expert for a set of vendors/plans; able to understand and clearly articulate claims trends, develop strategies for cost mitigation, analyze current patterns of program usage to evaluate effectiveness, ensure adherence to contracts.
Leverage population health data to develop and deliver meaningful interventions to improve health outcomes and/or compliance. Lead the participation in area and industry surveys.
Develop market competitive as well as progressive policy and program recommendations for review by management.
Develop and deliver a retiree benefits strategy aimed at reducing long term liability.
Manage all aspects of the benefits budget.
Partner with Benefits service delivery team to implement changes and new programs successfully.
Oversee the compliance of the benefit programs including but not limited to SPDs, Plan Documents, 5500 filings, and Healthcare Reform.
Responsible for contract management as well as the preparation and evaluation of bids for vendors and consultants.
Develop a robust communications strategy including new hires, annual enrollment and life event driven campaigns (new parents, leave of absence, retiree eligible, etc).
Project manage Annual Enrollment implementation and communications
Perform due diligence activities for acquisitions and divestitures and support integration activities.
Manage alongside Procurement/Legal, vendor contracts, develop performance guarantees (PGs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and manage RFP/RFIs.
Work with Factory Leadership to develop a targeted onsite health improvement strategy for their specific location through health/ prevention/and personalized advocacy and assistance
Require specific expertise in medical and Rx plan management; leave of absence/disability, and wellbeing/ point solutions and practices.
Create LOA/disability benefits policies, communications, addressing complex issues.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
8+ years strategic benefits management including design, delivery, analysis, budgeting and communication
Managerial experience
Strong Vendor Management experience
Experience managing multiple programs in a complex, outsourced environment
Experience with retiree medical programs, RDS and Medicare
Experience with Point Solutions and Digital Navigation Platform
Strong technical understanding of file transmissions with HRIS systems/payroll and TPAs, data feeds and data integrity,
Strong compliance knowledge and implications of applicable federal and state laws pertaining to benefits, including ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ERISA, PPACA, ARP (American Rescue Plan) etc.
Strong organization/project management skills including demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and timelines
Demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Strong computer skills, proficient in using Microsoft Office Software, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point

Pay: The pay range for this position is $115,680 to $173,520. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
