**Department Overview**
The Commercial Mortgage Group (“CMG”) supports the existing Business Banking / TD Securities / TD Canada Trust client base providing commercial mortgage products across the asset class spectrum that are competitive within the Canadian marketplace. Our goal is to deliver commercial mortgage products at all times and in all market conditions, subject to assets, structure and other risk parameters being acceptable.
**Job Description**
The Senior Manager Business Banking, Origination (SMBBO) works as part of a team, together with Underwriters, in supporting the commercial mortgage referrals obtained from a defined geographical segment of the Commercial Banking network, as well as handling direct requests from various COI's and customers. The position focuses on growing the portfolio by developing new business from network and direct referrals. The position also contributes to portfolio term renewal retention activity & strategy. The SMBBO reports directly to the AVP - Sales & Relationship Management, Business Banking.
+ Establish and meet annual sales objectives for items on the Individual Scorecard
+ Successfully execute the Commercial Sales Methodology
+ Maximize relationship RAROC for all customers, ensuring the minimum required threshold is met / exceeded on each new loan
+ Respond effectively to referrals from the Business Banking network and other direct sources and develop productive relationships with each assigned CBC
+ Make referrals to other business partners
+ Assess credit requests to determine risk and make appropriate recommendations to the assigned Underwriter for packaging / writing the credit
+ Be knowledgeable of and comply with Bank and Industry Codes of Conduct
+ Structure and package creative competitive solutions to meet customer needs
+ Develop strong relationships with internal and external business partners and leverage these networks to increase referral flow
+ Be the central point person for referral and CMG product / market information for assigned segment of the CBC network segment. This includes other areas of the Bank that partner with CMG, such as Interest Rate Derivatives
**Job Requirements**
+ The incumbent must demonstrate superior product knowledge, understand and effectively demonstrate sales best practices and possess strong negotiating, problem solving and organizational skills
+ The SMBBO possesses a strong knowledge of all commercial real estate classes including multi-unit residential, and be able to support referrals. The SMBBO will also act as a product SME for the assigned segment of network.
+ The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, motivated to achieve results in a high volume, fast paced environment
