Senior Manager, Business Resiliency Management

Are you a Business Resiliency Expert known for being proactive and inquisitive who can challenge our current thinking, identify potential, new threats and help our businesses prepare for such risks? Marsh McLennan is seeking candidates for the following position based in New York City or Seattle.

This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

What can you expect?

The Business Resiliency Management (BRM) organization develops and helps implement Marsh & McLennan Companies' business continuity planning to maintain the well-being of employees, protect assets, and provide continued service for clients during business disruptions.Develop, coordinate, implement and provide advice, reporting and services on a variety of risk management issues, primarily focused on Business Resiliency for Marsh & McLennan operations in the US. This position reports into the Business Resiliency Region Head for the Americas.

We will count on you to:

Provide overall direction and oversight for the MMC Global BRM program to support and maintain a strong business resiliency, preparedness and response environment across MMC.Maintain, update, validate business impact assessments (BIAs) to identify critical applications/systems and recovery capabilities and prioritiesCoordinate actions to mitigate business continuity risks associated with offices, functions and operations to maintain the well-being of employees, protect assets, and provide continued service for clients during business disruptionsParticipate in the development, implementation and maintenance of business resiliency plans, policies and procedures across all assigned business units. Support recovery team leaders in planning, maintaining and implementing active recovery plans.Coordinate delivery of BRM program training and awareness activities across areas of responsibility.Regularly assesses recovery capability, through reviews, testing and exercising, and reports on business resiliency status to stakeholder groups.Coordinate activities with the functions/groups that play a role in crisis management, including updates to crisis management documentation and facilitation of crisis management testing and exercising.Coordinates and facilitates 24x7 crisis management and incident response efforts.Oversees business resiliency management initiatives consistent with goals and objectives of various operating companies and systems strategies under the direction of the Region Head.Facilitates ongoing relationships with line of business, regional business or functional leadership, ensuring awareness of issues and fully engaged in their resolution.Coordinates with other BRM and business regional resources to support a consistent approach to the efficient use and application of business resiliency resources and standards.Support the governance, project management and quality management activities of the MMC Global BRM program.Ability and desire to travel domestically up to 15% of the time to facilitate program requirements.

What you need to have: 

A minimum of 10 years of experience in a Business Resiliency or comparable position, with demonstrated leadership and influencing skills. Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent preferred.Background and experience in incident and crisis management, emergency response, disaster recovery, business process analysis and risk management.Excellent organizational, and time management skills to handle multiple projects and tasks.Excellent analytical skills with experience in data analysis, metrics and KPI/KRI reporting.Experience with the development of training programs for business resiliency including crisis management simulation exercises.Detail oriented, results focused with excellent written, verbal and presentation skills to effectively interact with colleagues at all levels.

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $108,900 to $217,600.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
