Senior Manager, Climate Disclosure & Regulatory Preparedness

You will focus on providing climate subject matter expertise to close disclosure gaps by working with business subject matter experts to support the development and enhancement of disclosures aligned with technical quantitative and qualitative requirements. The role is also responsible for developing and implementing processes and controls, policies, and guidelines to enhance CIBC’s climate-related control environment. The role works collaboratively with stakeholders across business units and functional groups, championing change and educating partners on climate and ESG requirements. _At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview._ **How you'll succeed** + **Expertise on environment and climate, including regulatory landscape :** Brings deep knowledge of technical environment and climate concepts, including climate risk management, GHG accounting, financed emissions, transition planning, climate and sustainability reporting frameworks, and financial sector implications of climate change. Brings knowledge and expertise on climate standards and evolving regulatory and policy landscape, staying apprised of changes, impacts, and opportunities to prepare as new requirements emerge. Monitors evolving standard and regulations (e.g., TCFD, ISSB, CSRD, SBTi, etc.) and supports interpretation of changes and impacts to CIBC’s climate-related strategy, disclosures, processes, controls, and data approaches. + **Climate-related disclosures:** Conducts research, analysis, and benchmarking to identify opportunities to enhance CIBC’s climate-related disclosures to improve alignment with voluntary and regulatory requirements. Works with stakeholders from across CIBC to evolve ESG and climate-related disclosures to prepare to comply with climate regulatory requirements and enhance disclosures year-over-year. + **Processes and controls :** Provides climate-related advice and support to formalize CIBC’s ESG processes and controls, leveraging existing CIBC frameworks and available ESG policies, methodologies and governance approaches. Collaborates with internal stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Risk, Process Engineering) as well as external consultants to develop and strengthen CIBC’s governance and control framework to prepare for current and future climate-related requirements. Acts as subject matter expert on climate to support stakeholders across CIBC to develop process documents and internal controls, aligned with CIBC’s existing Control Framework. Supports preparation for evolving assurance or audit requirements as they emerge. + **Contribution to climate data and measurement :** Designs and implements strong data and measurement approaches to ensure accurate, reliable, and auditable climate-related disclosures. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to build climate data capabilities, develops recommendations, and works with stakeholders to implement climate data and measurement strategies. Monitors climate-related processes and controls and data and measurement approaches and makes recommendations to ensure continuous improvement and effectiveness. + **Stakeholder collaboration :** Demonstrates strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to manage key stakeholder relationships. Supports end-to-end project implementation as a climate and ESG subject matter expert and provides guidance to a diverse team of professionals. Maintains a collaborative work environment and supports team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process problems. **Who you are** + **You demonstrate** a minimum of three years in climate, environment, ESG, sustainability, audit/assurance or a related field within the financial services industry. + **You demonstrate technical knowledge of climate concepts** , frameworks and regulations, with an understanding of the evolving climate and ESG landscape. + **You give meaning to data.** You enjoy investigating complex problems, and making sense of detailed quantitative information.
