About the Role

The overarching objective of the Senior Manager, Cloud Services is to assist the wider team of the operational performance of AIA’s Group shared Public Cloud services. The role will ensure the smooth operation of the Public Cloud services by responding to business unit requests.

The role will also work closely with the Cloud Engineer, Automation to identify new use cases for automation from frequent business unit provisioning or support requests.

Supporting of cloud environments such as Azure (primary location) and AWS, while working with changing priorities from the team and other teams within Group Technology.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Assist in the support of the AIA multi-cloud environment (predominantly Azure but with an AliCloud and AWS footprint)Liaise with service providers to ensure that operational processes (backup, patching, provisioning, monitoring) for service follow-up and incident managementLead a team of senior engineers including people management responsibilitiesImprove operational efficiency via use-case definition with the Automation EngineerSupport Group Technical Risk to ensure compliance to all security requirements and standardsSupport of non-standard cloud services that might not be covered in AIA service provider contracts

Experience:

7+ years relevant experience in Cloud Engineering / Support role2+ years in a team leader capacity with at least 5 direct reportsExcellent understanding and proven experience in Public Cloud implementation, workload migration and operational support in a multi-site enterprise environmentProven experience plus relevant professional certifications (Azure, AWS etc)Experience with Microsoft PowerShellHands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)Understanding of Infrastructure-As-Code configuration management tooling (at least one of the following – Terraform, Ansible, Saltstack, Chef/Puppet)Ability to define use-cases for automation and service improvementPractical experience of supporting Enterprise Public Cloud Services and automationLife insurance experience within a regional or multinational scope will be an advantageExperience within a decentralized organization, preferably within the Group unitSound understanding of IT operating model design and best practices
